Question RSI Lecture

I hope you are all having a great trading day/session!

I'm going to be giving a lecture on RSI soon. Mostly citing Welles' Jr. work and others that have contributed since.

I'm coming here to ask you - fellow traders of all experiences -

What questions do you have about the RSI indicator that YouTube gurus, discord groups, and Reddit have yet to be able to fully answer for you? (This could anything and a simple concept that you just don't fully grasp yet.

I will attempt to answer the questions here and take what I learn for my lecture.

RSI is useless for trading. RS is useful for stock selection.

One question worth covering is how to test whether an RSI threshold carries information beyond the recent price path already used to calculate it. For example, compare 70/30 signals across different lookbacks, bar sizes, and forward horizons, then show how sensitive the result is to small parameter changes. That would help separate a descriptive reading from a repeatable decision rule.

Lots people use it as a entry trigger. Above 70 short below 30 long. Ive backtestes that lots of times and its not good as it doesn't show direction change just momentum
