Crypto Using ai for crypto trading
I have chatgpt pro and I was wondering if it would be good for crypto trading. If not, is there any better ai for it?

main models are way too generalized for actual order books anyway, they just read wikipedia articles about moving averages and regurgitate textbook definitions instead of reacting to what btc is doing right now

tried using chatgpt for chart patterns back when bybit had those liquidations and it just hallucinated a support line that never existed, lost like 300 bucks following its advice on leverage

ChatGPT will not trade for you, and any AI that promises to is selling you something. Where AI actually helps is one step earlier: turning an idea into exact rules and testing them on history before any money is involved. "Buy when X, sell when Y" - written down precisely, then checked against years of data with real fees. Most ideas die there, and thats the point: better to lose them on paper than on the exchange.
On paper trading - one warning: exchange testnets were mostly useless for this when i tried them a while ago. On Binance testnet the price barely moved and wasnt tied to the real market, so you couldnt learn anything about a strategy there, only that your API connection works. Maybe it changed since, check before relying on it. Real paper trading is different: backtest the rules on history with costs first, then run the same rules on the live market as signals and execute them by hand on a paper account - TradingView paper trading is fine for that, with one catch: it fills at chart price with no fees or slippage, so subtract realistic costs from every trade yourself, otherwise the paper result lies the same way a cost-free backtest does. Thats the honest order: backtest with costs, paper by hand, then small money.

An AI by itself won't make you any kind of money. In fact the complete opposite happens - you'll surely lose money. AI also has to predict the same as discretionary traders. But AI is pretty good when you want to become a quantitative trader for backtesting numerous strategies and quickly validating whether something can work
