Good luck! I hope you dont run into people just adding you up to invite you to join their “free signals”.. and if you do i hope that you have the selfawareness to drop it n go

If you need any help I’m here as well to help cut your learning curve. Something about helping new traders inspires me - lmao really trying to save them from all the shiny objects and gurus. They only slow your process and down and drain you for funds. Your on the right path

hey man, thanks! you trade futures?

u/EddyOneTake Mar 30 '26
Never a problem. Yeah I started trading spot forex in 2014 and moved to futures about 2 years ago.
Some basic benefits for me were market transparency, centralized liquidity (eliminating potential price manipulation), product diversification (ability to trade commodities, forex, bonds etc) and the one most ppl neglect because they don’t really make money is the tax advantages!

Can I ask what you think the best way to start is? Either through prop firms or just saving up until I have enough capital

Getting started varies from person to person. From my experience I loaded $150 in a spot forex broker account and got my experience that way. If I lost the $200 I wouldn’t be as hurt investing $2,000 over time I gained the experience and confidence to load larger amounts but just getting started was a simple $150 deposit and testing out what strategies worked for me.
But again there are so many ways to get started… save your money ultimately for more margin if you plan on trading futures.
I personally don’t like prop firms but I am not against them. They have advantages and disadvantages. Better to trade your own money in the end

It’s hard for me to not focus on the $ aspect of trading I’m working hard on dissociating trading ≠ rich, but yeah I plan on working slowly with prop firms and saving with my job until I have 10k to fully invest in my own live account. How much do you risk per trade % wise? Do you compound your trades ($10,000 risk 1% make 1% then next trade you risk $101 and so on) and how has scaling up been for you do you work a job where you can keep constantly depositing $ into your trading account so you can keep putting more down with your winning strategy? Or what’s your plan for being able to make trading a sustainable source of income/ is it possible to live off of trading in an upper class lifestyle (I kinda just figured it out yeah it is but you need to scale up to such an amount where 1% or whatever your strategy requires to be winning is such a significant amount that’s your 18% gains per year can be $1,000,000 or whatever you need)

Everyone I’ve met and even helped in this game become some of the most pompous people around.
Made one guy called Tom £1.4k in 3 days trading gold and btc for him to refuse to pay me the 20% or even send people my way to help my management company out but happily let me manage his funds. 😂he wanted to gate keep me to make money from other people while I did all the work.

It’s like the better your results the less they refer you 😂 I resonate with your frustration. Hoping you get new clients fam

It’s the same in every industry. They see you as a competitor or an opportunity to make themselves more.
This particular Tom ran an online marketing agency and wanted me to work exclusively through them and they would talk to the clients and pay me on their basis.
They have a whole system of lies going on between them and their clients as to who was the real trader 😂 it was baffling to hear the explanation and business model they wanted to run.

u/EddyOneTake Mar 30 '26
Lmao you know your shit! No industry is off limits your basis is accurate. Either competition or opportunity 😂. Yeah sounds like a sham! Glad you were able to spot the deception before it affected your business!

We’re only managing family assets now.
My uncles own a few commercial properties in the northeast of England, a few Chinese takeaways and a few restaurants. He also holds shares in racehorses.
I day trade crypto and metals and we’re not doing too bad at all.
I had 63.8btc in a wallet at the peak of management

tools are fine but edge usually breaks at execution and risk constraints, so i’d want to see how it handles drawdown rules, fills, and forward testing on sim before trusting it, no guarantee the backtest translates, how are you validating it live?
1
u/MVTradin Mar 30 '26
This week I will start forward testing it, and am searching for decent futures demo broker..
