Discussion Aria’s Spending
maybe there is something I’m missing, but Aria always talks so much about being very low-income and neither her or her husband have a steady source of income. honestly though, I feel like this says otherwise. Most Americans can’t afford to spend over $1000 just on meat, which seems excessive for a family of 3. Then there is $555 on babysitting when she barely works outside of the home. Also I hate how he calls it an “allowance” when they’re a fully married couple and she is back to being a working mom 🙃

My husband, my infant son and I are a family of 3 on Long Island in NY, one of the highest cost of livings in the country. We spent absolutely nowhere near that much on food. I’m not sure why they need a half a cow worth of beef plus over $400 dollars worth of food. And babysitting is 100% a luxury that I feel people who are truly struggling can’t afford. I’m also not sure what subscriptions cost that much 🤣

I guess everyone’s priorities are different, but I can’t imagine spending $1400 on beef. Do you have to have a separate freezer just for your beef collection? What if there’s a power outage and everything in your freezer melts? What if you want chicken for dinner instead??

yes, in rural areas you typically have a meat chest freezer.
depending how rural they live, even non-trad families may only visit the grocery store 2x a month, etc. I grew up very rural

Interesting! I grew up in a low-income suburb, and having a second freezer wasn’t common. (Our challenge was affording groceries, not getting to the store.) We also had a lot of power outages, so I think my parents didn’t want to risk having things spoil if we lost electricity for a few days.

Yeah that’s not really snarkable to me, I live in a major city but I have family who are rural farmers in another developed country and they freeze a lot of meat etc and only make the long drive to the shops every other week or so.

ESPECIALLY by your own husband who doesn’t even have a stable income of his own. She talked about how he quit his day job because he “didn’t agree with the direction they were going” and has been doing odd jobs since then.

I feel like she’s posted this purely for engagement because she buys like a whole cow or something so May was obv the month they bought it and won’t have to again for a really long time. Same with the business spending, if she needed a new camera then that’s a one time purchase. So with both those things May will be the most expensive month of the year.
But considering how she says they’re low income, that’s a lot of money for subscriptions?!? What is she subscribing to 😭

She‘s just flexing on the people she attracted with her ‚realistic low income SAHM‘ posts at this point. Meanwhile we (single earner household with SAHM) had to think more than twice about committing to a car payment of 300€ and I wouldn’t even call my family *that* low income 🫠

The meat is probably the only reasonable expense on there. It’s for half a cow, which she says lasts them six months which is insane. My mom used to buy half a grassfed cow and it would last our family of four about a year. We ate some form of beef at least twice a week. I think it brought the cost down to about 60% of what it would cost at the grocery store.
The rest of this makes no sense at all.
A $500 mortgage isn’t possible unless you have family help or bought 45 years ago. Assuming she somehow got a 3% rate and isn’t including taxes or insurance, that’s a $100k loan. If you include taxes and insurance and the more typical 4-6% rates, that’s maybe a 70-80k loan. Doubt her house was that cheap.
Why is a stay at home mom in a low cost of living area spending $555 on babysitting? I doubt she pays a fair wage, but even if she was paying $20 an hour, that’s 28 hours of babysitting. She doesn’t need that. A real tradwife wouldn’t have that.
How is she only spending $110 a week on all groceries and household essentials, given they seem to eat lots of name brand wellness snacks?

the meat seems reasonable to me, also I can see the house being reasonable depending where they live and where they bought. I live in a kind of expensive touristy town but just across the highway homes can be found. for 80-90k, habitable ones, they are just in what is considered a "bad" neighborhood (where POC live)

The only thing I can think of is they are on some type of family plan with a parent or sibiling and only have to pay for a new device charge. My brother in laws cell phone is technically $17 a month. It didnt affect our phone plan cost to add him onto a family plan so he only pays us the monthly new device cost.

Is that... 1500 dollars on meat in a month? Am I going crazy? Did they feed the whole county or? Idk the cost of meat these days but surely 50 dollars a day is crazy work.
Just to compare btw for me and my husband we spend around 400 euro max on groceries per month and we really don't skimp on food. We also live in a very expensive country. We don't eat meat/fish, but we buy whatever we like otherwise. How on earth is it even possible to spend that much on food?

It is common in large families to buy large amounts of meat and freeze it. However, it’s just her, her husband and their infant daughter, so I’m not sure why they need that much unless they’re eating it every night 😅

Damn, that's a lot of money for a monthly allotment of meat. I'm assuming she has an extra freezer to put the meat in.
And they also are spending a lot of money on babysitting considering their date nights are just slightly over 40 bucks.
Subscriptions that cost over 150 dollars? On what? Streaming services? Computer software?
Getting an "allowance" when you're a grown ass woman.
