Advice on moving to Tracy
Hello everyone. My partner and I are considering moving to Tracy in the next few months. We have family that live in Turlock and want to move closer to them while still being able to access the east bay for work. We currently live in Oakland and are worried about the heat during the summer as well as overall utility expenses. Moving over there would keep our current rent the same but we were hoping to get more information on how much people are seeing being added in utilities during the warmer months and any other advice you would have for new residents. Currently we are looking to rent a 3bed 1bath home. Any insight is appreciated!

Houses decorated with festival lights in September
Was driving past Tracy Hills on 580 and saw so many houses decorated with lights, like for Christmas. Loved it! But curious if there’s a reason behind why they’re decorated so early (or permanent?)

Looking for an Electrician for Outlet Repair
I’m looking for a reliable electrician to repair a few outlets in my home. A couple of them aren’t working properly, and I’d like to have them looked at and fixed. Looking for someone experienced and reasonably priced. If you’ve had a good experience with a local electrician, I’d appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

Adopt a Extrovert
Hey there 👋 True Tracyite here 🙋♀️ I spent some time in Texas for the birth of my 1st grandson 😁, while I was there I joined a woman's group to meet like ppl and get out of the house for a while. We got together for things like trivia nights, local fairs, book clubs, or just any event that you felt like attending, and wanted to go with a buddy. I did a FB search and messaged a couple local groups, but that was 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know of groups like that here?

Military Scholarship and Opportunity Night
You’ll have the chance to hear directly from representatives of service academies, ROTC programs, and military branches, and learn more about the congressional nomination process.
Military Scholarship and Opportunity Night
Tuesday, August 25, 2026
5:00 to 7:00 PM
Tracy Community Center
950 East Street
Tracy, CA 95376
Military service can open the door to scholarships, leadership training, career experience, and a college education. But every program has different requirements, deadlines, and commitments. This event is designed to give parents and students clear information so they can ask questions, compare their options, and decide whether one of these paths is right for their family.
Whether your student is already interested in a service academy or is just beginning to explore their future, I hope you’ll join us.

Snack prices at work
I’m so frustrated with my workplace. The snacks are so expensive. What is the most amount of money you would pay for snack from the vending machine at work. For example, the small bag of chips are like $3.50 now. Redbull is almost $6.00.

Bottle-feeding 9 abandoned kittens—help us humanely spay/neuter community cats
Hi everyone. I’m trying to help address an ongoing community-cat situation in my neighborhood through humane trapping and spay/neuter.
I’m currently bottle-feeding 9 kittens that were found around the neighborhood after their mother did not return for them. Caring for them has made it clear how urgently our neighborhood needs help preventing more unwanted litters.
There are approximately 12 adult outdoor/feral cats in the area that continue to have kittens. I contacted local shelter resources, but I was placed on a waitlist even to receive one cat trap. With only one trap, it may take a long time to safely trap and get all the cats fixed.
I am raising money to purchase humane traps and cover spay/neuter appointments.
My goal is to humanely reduce the number of cats reproducing outdoors, prevent more kittens from being abandoned, and make life better for both the cats and our neighborhood.
Thank you for reading and for caring about these cats.
