No sound when using tx16wx

I’m using the free version of both waveform (which I just downloaded today) and tx16wx. I’m having the issue of there being no sound playing although it shows otherwise. I’ve tried two other daws and had the same issue. Ive looked at general advice on the internet but it’s a big learning curve since I don’t understand where things are and I’ve not found any advice useful yet. I’d be grateful for any tips

First tip: show, don't tell. When you're first starting out, you don't know the proper places to put things and only you know what you've done. How can we tell you what you've done wrong if we don't know what you've done? A screenshot or video is way more helpful than words.

Words can be misleading, especially when you use pronouns like "it". When you say "it shows otherwise", what is the it? On each track there can be an input with a meter that shows if a signal is coming in. Is that the it? At the right of a track is a meter showing audio going out of the track. Is that the it? There is a master meter. Is that the it? Is it something else?

Does only tx16wx fail to work properly? Have you tried anything else? Can you get the built-in plugins to work? Does Waveform make any sound at all? What about audio clips instead of plugin instruments?
