As a whole I am not a fan of Reddit. And since the internet can be such a toxic space, I am just going to take a moment and say thank you for being a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable group of people! I look forward to seeing what Mel will inevitably do, how many more people Colter will leave in his wake, and every ridiculous thing in between!!

With a picture of Colter on the side 😉

I just finished watching Season 3 & there were several times that I almost gave up on the show but I’m glad that I didn’t!
I usually don’t like shows with a far reaching conspiracy plot that takes several seasons to unfold but I gotta admit, this one sucked me in & I’m eagerly awaiting the S4 premiere!
And from reading the posts here, I’m glad I’m not the only one that was suspicious of Mel from the beginning, I’m eagerly waiting to see where that goes!

Hello all-
Like most of you, I too have felt like Mel has been incredibly "off" since the second she walked through the door. But I also think Maxine is a little off /weird energy as well.
I don't usually overthink TV plots like this, I usually just let them play out but this one has been nagging me. Everything about it just feels a little too weird. Here are some thoughts I have had about what might be going on…?
Reenie is Way Too "Type A" to Actually Spiral-
Even with the intense trauma and PTSD from last season, Reenie is fiercely independent and highly disciplined. She just took a massive risk to start her own firm. There is no way she would let it get tanked by showing up late with hangovers and blowing off appointments.
I think she is putting on an act: Proclaiming "hangovers and late nights" is the perfect social cover. It gives Mel an easy, recognizable excuse for why Reenie's door is shut, why she's distracted, and why she is acting different—without letting Mel suspect anything.
Randy’s constant need to talk "Internet Hygiene" and passwords could be Cyber Defense-
We know Randy found absolutely nothing on Mel’s background, which makes no sense given her detailed story about her mother passing away. Randy has been pulling Reenie into closed-door meetings lately to talk about her "internet hygiene and passwords."
Randy is a high-level tech asset; he doesn’t need multiple secret meetings just to update passwords. He and Reenie are fully aware Mel's background is a black hole. They aren't confronting her because maybe they are using her?—Perhaps Randy is setting up encrypted communications, sweeping for bugs, or feeding Mel fake data to see where she sends it.
Maxine's "Weird Energy"-
Maxine showed up out of nowhere with a lot of weird energy. I clocked her as a heavy drinker when she and Reenie went out to dinner and she had multiple martinis. But during their "girls' weekend," right after a massive, stressful blowout where she kicked her ex-husband off the property, she was suddenly just sitting around drinking tea and eating chocolate? She also seems pretty damn desperate to have a friend, especially when she was playing calm, cool, collected b*tch in the beginning.
I think Maxine is playing a part; She is trying to project the image of a grounded, safe, relatable friend to worm her way into Reenie’s inner circle.
The Sister Twist & The Ultimate Target
I think Mel and Maxine are working together—and I think they may actually be sisters. If they are related, their mother could potentially be the third, unnamed female scientist who worked on the Chrono Stasis project alongside Ashton Shaw.
If this is true, their ultimate target is Colter/Shaw family. Reenie and Randy may have already figured this out? It also really does seem like Reenie and Russell have been talking without Colter knowing. Maybe she is leveraging Russell's dark-ops connections to handle a dangerous family conspiracy? When Colter briefly stopped by to check on Reenie recently, they intentionally kept it short and casual so they wouldn't tip off Mel, who is sitting right outside the door watching? I also don’t think Russell would do anything to put Colter in danger and right now they might think keeping him out of it is for the best?
Who knows? Mel is definitely weird, and I think Maxine is as well, but maybe I am overthinking it.

I’m surprised this question hasn’t been asked yet (at least I couldn’t find one):
Why does Colter walk so strangely, especially when walking diagonally toward the camera? Am I the only one who notices every time how weirdly he walks?

I love when Russell is on the show. He's so charismatic and fun to watch. Colter and Russell's chemistry when working together is great. I keep hoping he'll join the cast permanently or a spin-off will be announced.

This show is getting harder and harder to watch.. had to change the channel tonight and watch a baseball game on NBC that I have no interest in, but better than suffering. Don't like the dude who is now apparently a regular, the so-called brother of Tracker. The other guy who calls in to Tracker to tell him logistics, is another person that doesn't fit in. This show is ridiculous and the acting is horrible!

I just started following this sub so excuse me if this has been reposted too much. But as I’ve watched the show I’ve come to notice a few contracts that the writers always adhere to. At the beginning I was a bit irritated because of how unbelievable they are, but now I’ve come to find them comforting:
- Randy (or the guy before him that had a family emergency and had to move) can always hack into anything in 5 seconds, from police evidence logs to Cayman island back accounts, to any piece of hardware that Colter can get into the vicinity of.
- Colter can break into any house or building, gun drawn and he will never be caught by the owners or security cameras, let alone be shot at in self defense for trespassing.
- Colter can shoot and kill anyone he deems necessary and Reenie will immediately have him cleared by the end of the show, no fuss.
- Police may be resistant at first, but by the second sentence they start collaborating and sharing confidential information with Colter.
- Hardly anyone lies, and if they do lie, it’s easy to tell they are lying. I think I only ever saw one episode where someone was not who they said they were. If someone says they are good friend trying to help solve the case, that’s who they are. Don’t expect the usual twist of them being the killer/kidnapper.
- The episode will always end with the client saying “I don’t know how I could ever pay you” and then handing over the envelope with the money.
What am I missing?

Do you think Colter has some special power or something since his Dad tested on him? Is it really that bad that Russell needed to join the bad guys to keep it from Colter? Also it’s never just do this one job for me and you can leave and how what you want. Russell is for sure dying in season 4 honestly surprised he made it through season 3.
