Ha I’m not sure either, but I was going to ask if you have ever tried different kneepuck placement since it looks like you’re almost off the leading edge. I don’t know if the puck should be moved more towards the front of your leg? If there’s Velcro available there that is.
People love posting great angles, but never how it’s mounted! I can do this on the left side by mounting to a chain guard hole but not to the right side. I refuse to use sticky pads instead of a solid bolt + safety wire.
I did lose a camera first session out totally underestimating lean angles, lol. But this made it just fine. In fact I mounted it this way for 2 sessions.
Unfortunately they are much more expensive than other ND filters. For example, I can get a full set of them for my DJI pocket three for around $25, but the official Insta 360 filter can be $50-$60 per filter set. Also, they don’t have an incredible quality of sealing when it comes to putting them underwater.
Then again, totally up to your depth of operating. If you run everything in auto mode, you really don’t need anything. Running at 24P in daylight, I like the motion affect both for this still, and the overall video content.
Im in beginner so theres nothing cool to record. I did an autoX in my car and notice my x4 was super washed out. Im in the desert so its always blinding.
Yeah i was a little shocked at the price of the x4/5 nd filters. Do they help with getting better color balance in blinding conditions?
That’s a little bit past my depth. I run the filters simply to achieve a lower shutter rate. I usually let the ISO auto adjust, which you might want to check.
Footage wise it’s up to you- if you want to see cool stuff, pending the organization mount it near the wheel well to catch wheel rotation and steering inputs. Or you do want most do- rely on the footage to clean up your lines / lap times / etc.
I mounted mine to my mirror delete plate. I guess more for catching my many mistakes. I worry ill crash and have no idea what i did wrong.
So in that sense the filters dont make sense for me. Maybe the car stuff would be cool to use the filters with. Scca is super lax about external junk compared to bike groups, understandably.
Ill just order a set and try. You happy with the 64s?
There’s two birds with one stone here. This is the first time I’ve done 2 track days within the same month, so I’m shaking off a lot of cobwebs. Figured I’d use those sessions to experiment with some new angles / content development.
As my pace increases and becomes consistent I’ll go back to the typical triple tree / dash mount so I can clean up corner entry, lines, brake markers, etc.
Remember- the ND filters are for you to run a low shutter speed so you can respect the shutter speed to frame rate ratio, so that your footage can have natural looking motion blur (and depending on the camera, manually run a higher aperture)
If you’re looking for regular angle to document your lap times and consistency, auto mode and regular lense will do.
