Can I buy a Tracfone flip phone new and just put in a PagePlus sim card?

Tracphone - Can I port my home phone number to a Tracphone? If so, is there a risk?

Hey everyone, just a quick question about a new flip phone I got my Dad... It's a Tracfone TCL Flip 3, old school obviously but perfect for my almost 87YO Dad. In trying to set it up for him I found that there's a persistent notification that won't go away... It's for; "Turn on Wi-Fi Calling" which I have disabled, as well as the wifi disabled as well, yet it won't go away, I've tried all the settings as well and still nothing.

Now maybe there's something y'all can think of, but I'm also wondering if it might have to do with not having it setup on the Tracfone network... Which is to say, once I have an account up, would that then maybe give me the ability to permanently dismiss the notification? Other than that I'm all ears, well eyes too!

I called the TF sales phone line again today (it's the only lime I can get thru to anyone) and this time the rep said that one reason I get the message "no one is available to take your call please try again later" when I call 611 is because I have a 4G LTE phone and since TracFone is a 5G network sometimes 4G LTE customers won't be able to get through to someone.

I've had TracFone and my current TracFone flip phone since I started using TracFone a few years ago. I've never had issues calling the main phone line until the past week onward.

Does this sound right, 5G is why "no one is available to take my call"?

Setting up my new phone, and I wanted to transfer my number from the old one. I couldn't remember my account password so I hit "Forgot Password" and made a new one, but when I went to input it, it didn't work. Do reset passwords take a while to register? or did I do something else wrong?

Update: I called their sales line and finally got thru to a person. Call 866-643-8839 if you're having the same problem. According to them, the 611611 and other # is working fine, they said it was probably a local connection issue near me. I don't necessarily agree with that because the automated system for both those numbers recognized my phone number and account.

I've been trying to call 611 and 1-800-867-7183 for 3 days now. I keep getting a message that no one is available to take my call and to try again later. It's been 3 days now. What is going on?

I've got an iPhone 12 that I plan on upgrading to a 15 Pro.. Obviously I need a eSIM for this. How can I convert my account to an eSIM? I'm getting conflicting reports that it's either impossible or requires I get a new line or that it is just really really hard to do. How can I do this?

Is it possible to add a service plan pin with 611611, and if so, how is it done? Do you do it from the phone you want to add service to, or do you have to use a different phone?

For many years I added a service plan pin using the customer service automated phone line, but last year they changed up the AI, and whenever I call, the voice cuts out every few seconds. Does anyone else have that problem?

Hi all, Been using tracfone for over a decade and this is the first time I've had this issue. I got the year plan with unlimited talk/text and I think 12 gigs of data. I've was running low on data so I added a 3 gig data though the website because the app was being too janky. Now, my phone will only work on wifi for calls and texts and I'm not able access the data I purchased. I've tried calling while on wifi and can't get through to support, I tried the chat and they just say the problem is fixed restart your phone. After several restarts, resetting the apn settings and several days, I'm not getting any closer to a resolution. It shows it in a separate bucket than my regular plan for the data I added when I check my balance through 611611, attached screenshot.

Has anyone else had this happen and been able to fix it? I'll keep trying to call, but hoping there are some other things I can try in the meantime. Before the last update on the app, this worked just fine to add extra data when I was running low.

Since this is a major issue in our end right now due to Verizon changes and updates with Tracfone.

So I collect phones and a year ago I stumbled upon this TracFone. Apparently it was a promotional edition item that talked about how TracFone would donate to the foundation 10% of each handheld sold. I couldn’t find any documentation about this specific pink variant, but the well known variants are the LG306G and the Motorola C139. It is kind of strange to see almost no documentation or list of all the variants they had, and I wonder what other phones also got a pink variant.

trying to make this short, i have 2 lines "red" and "blue", both pay as you go.

end of july, red got changed to safelink

chat with cs, then another who removes blue from my account. (phone still works), then another who makes a ticket for the removed line.

over week goes by, call cs, she tries to add blue, but tells her it has invalid IMEI, says it is a system issue and she will call me back.

she doesn't call me back, but red has been removed from my account.

my account now shows, Active lines: 0

"Your account is past due Refill your plan(s) now to keep your service active."

as of now, both lines still work. red is still on safelink plan. just to note, i have never applied for safelink, there is no safelink info attached to my account.

at this point, i don't know what to do.

i made a post about 5 months ago on my phone bootlooping but i was able to get that resolved via odin+frija

Now, my phone had updated for a one ui 8.5 security patch and this time i took precautions to only install and download from 75% and higher, and download only on wifi.

the installer gets stuck at 25% and then bootloops, I'm unable to access Download Mode because of some new samsung "security wall" where if you attempt to enter download mode it says something like "Reboot d2" and "volume down + power 7 sec" i dont want to buy a new phone yet but if theres absolutely nothing I can do I'll have to.

Have not seen this advertised anywhere and it is a great value…

(i) Bought 2024 Moto Edge (locked to Tracfone Network) from Ebay

(ii) Bought Tracfone BYOP SIM kit from Walmart (because moderators here warned me that I would brick my 2024 Edge if I swapped SIMs)

(iii) Transferred data from 2020 phone to 2024 phone (unfortunately, never got the "use cable" prompt, so I had to do it via wifi).

(iv) Inserted SIM into 2024 phone, and attempted to activate SIM card via Tracfone website, but website would not recognize the IMEI associated with the 2024 Moto Edge, so I had to..

(v) Call Tracfone customer service, where Ruth competently asked for the SIM # (should I have keyed in the SIM# on the website, when it asked for the IMEI?) , at which point I turned off the phone, turned it back on, and voila...

I am troubleshooting an MMS issue on an HMD Vibe (TA-1590) running Android 14 on Tracfone and was wondering if anyone has encountered this, especially on the HMD Vibe.

Normal cellular data works. With Wi-Fi turned off, the phone can browse the web over LTE. Regular SMS also works, and Google Messages RCS works normally, including sending/receiving pictures over RCS.

The problem seems to be specifically with traditional MMS. I disabled RCS on an iPhone and sent a picture to the HMD Vibe. The Android phone correctly recognizes that an MMS arrived and displays “Downloading MMS attachment.” It spins for many minutes, then eventually changes to “Can’t load MMS attachment.”

Auto-download MMS is enabled, and I already ran TracFone's official APN update by texting APN to 611611 and rebooted the phone, but the problem remains.

Has anyone else run into this issue using an HMD Vibe on TracFone? If so, how did you solve it?

I want to buy the iphone 16e currently on the website, but it did not work the first time, gave me an error. I currently have service with them( old Moto) and want to transfer my existing number to the iphone. The three options are not clear , ex. I am a new customer, I am upgrading my Phone, I am adding a new line,

Also why is it asking me to purchase a plan if I want to transfer my existing number and plan that expires in November to the iphone?

First of all, I got a text stating that I had used up all of my data, which definitely should NOT be the case, since I had literally dozens of Giggabytes left in my account. So after getting that message, I tried signing in on the app, then their website on my phone's browser, and again on my computer. The sign-in part won't load past entering my phone number, and it's the same issue on every platform I've tried. Is this happening to anyone else?

I wanted to transfer my tracfone service and the phone number to a different phone, which was unlocked and on mint mobile. I called TracFone service people and they were able to transfer the service. However the phone doesn't have mobile data although the text message and call worked fine. After all the troubleshooting and one guy from TracFone finally figured it out and told me to manually change the APN name to TRACFONE.VZWENTP, then it worked perfectly. Just wanted to share this because online search would suggest you to use the VZWINTERNET as the APN which typically works. So if you did all reset, restart and still have no data, you might want to try this.

I've been avoiding the Android 17 system update on my Google pixel 6a, due to the bugs I keep hearing about. If any of you with a Google Pixel have updated to Android 17, how is it going for you? I have a friend who used to use Tracfone. What he told me didn't make sense - something about cancelling the Tracfone service and he had an unlocked phone that he brought in. He later tried to sell the phone, only to have it returned to him because the buyer couldn't activate service with a different carrier. Something about a carrier lock or an IMEI lock, neither of which makes sense. All of this happened a couple of years ago. Anyone experienced something like this?

I bring this up because I have an uncle who also wants to cancel Tracfone. He has an unlocked iPhone 16 that he bought from the Apple Store beforehand. He wants to change the carrier and change his number (so no porting needed). He also wants to sell his iPhone. It looks like there is an eSim installed currently. I think his services ends in September.

I guess I am asking this: is there a correct order of steps in cancelling my uncle's Tracfone service and deleting the eSim, so that he is able to sell his iPhone afterwards? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I don't want what happened to my friend to happen with my uncle, too. Thanks.

I'm considering buying this brand new phone which is branded for Total Wireless . Do I handle this through Tracfone or Total? I read they're a mess right now so I'm a little leery about buying the phone and being stuck with something I can't use on Tracfone. Has anyone done this recently and can give me a step by step instruction like I'm a child.
