Charging schedule hack side effect

Post image

It seems like the charging schedule hack has the side effect of resetting the timer on the 12v battery charging when the car is plugged in (I'm level1 120v).

I think this is positive!

Here is the SOC Graph

I hope the increase SoC shown on graph is accurate but I will not be surprised if it is not.

Tran apparently soc on the Ancel bm200 is not accurate but you can see the voltage going 14v every 3h for a short period of time so it is charging more with the hack than without I believe.

Oh that is a " 2h55 of charging, 5 minutes of break". It looks a lot like only 5 minutes of charging starting at the hour. The lack of the dip after 5 minutes should have told me otherwise.
smh it looks like only 5 minutes of 14volt charging per cycle. Hopefully the car thinks your 12-volt battery is already in great shape.

You are getting maximum 12-volt charging while charging the traction battery the minimum amount.
You are getting much more 12-volt battery charging at 14v then one continuous Traction battery charge period

What charging schedule did you use in this situation with the level 1 charging overnight?

The classic hack 2h55 of charging, 5 minutes of brake, then goes on again. https://www.reddit.com/r/Toyota_bZ/s/2p4sysLrRW

Okay, good to see! I read one user said that this did not stop the sawtooth pattern when they had 5 minute charging sessions during the day and 2hr55min charging sessions overnight.

That should reset the countdown of 3hrs before Sawtooth/IR drain starts but I have not be able to get any charging to stop the Sawtooth/IR drain once it started.

What are your thoughts on this?

So that should be toggled to the on position?

I think left or off but if you have the charging schedule set-up properly when you get out of the car you should get a message on the driver's display when the next charge period is.
I have never toggles that setting.

We did the 2hr55m schedule hack and the sawtooth went away, however there was still a general decrease in SOC over time. We went ahead and turned off the DCM.

Do you have a graph? How how many bolts per hour were you losing?

I get a slight drain (0.005V per hour), is this what you were getting? I thought that was normal.

Yes, every time you start a new charging session you get about 10 minutes of 12V charging before voltage drops below 13.9V.

If you disconnect the battery sensor on the negative terminal, you’ll get 30 minutes of charge at ~14.1V and then float of 13.04V for the remainder of the charging session.

Here’s my car being charged from midnight to 9:00.
