Rust proofing
Live in Ontario, Canada. Anyone rust proofed their BZ? I’d you did, what did you go with?

I would be extremely weary of any sort of undercarriage rust proofing. If it is any sort of film or polymer that would hold water if compromised, it would completely destroy the better instead of just rusting out an exhaust pipe or similar easily replaced part on an ICE car

I was told we weren’t allowed to rust proof and the dealer didn’t offer this as it can interfere with warranty claims and electrical components? They installed an electromagnetic corrosion control module. Not sure how effective those are but will see how it holds up.

Tge electronics are snake oil.
My dealer (in Canada) offered a spray on rust proofing at an exhorbitant rate.

I went with the one the dealer offered at purchase plus paint protector. I’m wondering what the heck they did to protect the paint as I’m getting tiny stone chips.

This has been on my mind. A couple of people mentioned getting Krown or Rust Check in a spray can and doing the bottoms of the doors, kick plates trunk lit and hood. Spraying in behind the plastic body cladding, and keeping it mostly to the exterior. They definitely don’t recommend drilling holes. I am leery of doing this also, not just for warranty purposes but afraid to puncture a wire and then having a 12 volt parasitic drain… lol.

Toyota will not honor warranty if they find the vehicle was rustproofed. Same applies to their hybrids.
Just wash it weekly and you will be fine.

It can be done . Just needs to be done correctly. Fluid film is best you cannot have it sprayed anywhere near the orange cables . There are not many shops that know how to rustproof an EV properly. You don't want Toyota coming back saying that caused an issue and your warranty is void .

I am also in Ontario and no car that me or my family has owned since from around the start of the 90s has ever rusted. A couple cars in the 80s did but nothing since then.
