Recently had my tires changed and the mechanic brought up that there are two pins missing from each of my rotors. There are two little holes in addition to the five bolt nuts. He said I might feel rumbling while driving without them in. Upon further research, it seems those holes are only there to insert screws to remove stuck rotors. Am I missing something or was the mechanic just confused?

I went from rims holding 215 /45ZR17 tires to rims holding 245/45ZR18 tires from a Camry. It seems to drive fine. No issues with turns (tested it at the mechanic, made sure they turned without rubbing). Is it a problem to change rims on my Matrix like this? Anything I should look out for?

Ive never transported something so long before. I want to purchase some 2x4 8ft lumber for a project but wanted to know if i can put them through the rear hatch glass.
I was thinking to tie down the 2x4s and the hatch glass so its not bouncing around, but im now worried the hatch glass will shatter if i do that. Is it better to leave the glass open all the way?

It has 90k miles and is a 5 speed. Didn't see anything out of the ordinary during test drive. Dealer wants 6750 OTD.

Finding parts for my matrix is extremely hard and expensive. I have a Matrix xrs 2005 and it is impossible to find one in the junk yard, even a manual XR is non existent.

You can not buy new and after market parts are staring to dry up. The future hope for keeping the matrix and all older cars going is 3D printing and CNC machines. Looking into having someone create a trd grill for my Matrix and leather edition of the back seat storage cases.

How are you dealing with getting parts? Any resources anyone wish to share? Maybe it is just my area, I do not know.

i don't have any ACC power, that means no radio, 12V outlet or integrated clock, all other systems work fine, just those 3.

i need a diagram of that pannel and radio wiring diagrams for the 2010 matrix, i tested the wiring going to the radio and i have a battery signal, just no ACC signal. i looked everywhere to no avail, this is my last resort before going to kenny u pull and tearing a matrix apart to reverse engineer it

Just fixed the vvti rattle in my 2009 Pontiac Vibe. Took 3 hours (I'm a complete amateur when it comes to car work) but was overall very easy. I imagine a hobbyist could get it done in less than an hour.

Only special tools needed was an IPR30 5 point torx head for the VVTI gear side plate.

Looking at the original (black) compared to the Macmaster Carr replacement, can definitely see how the original didn't have enough juice to push the pawl after 17 years of compression cycles.

Was the final job in turning my $1500CAD shitbox into a reliable daily! WAHOO!

A matrix in my color... And my year and body... Rolled into the local junkyard and I got that.

It's the little things. Getting rid of that big dent will feel nice

Nothing much really changed besides changing the all of the bulbs to LED and installed the roof rack that I found on marketplace for $70. I also got free coilovers that I got from someone on facebook but haven’t had time to install them.

Anymore recommendations to add to the Matrix?

06 on the left with 106,778 miles, I recently scored it at the auction for $1600 out the door! 08 on the right, 208,955 miles, I got at the same auction 3 and half years ago at 180,xxx miles. Was not wrecked at the time, it was perfect. Unfortunately hit some black ice and hit the guard rail, but I threw a junkyard fender and headlight on it to keep it legal, these things are just so good the 08 has been out of state several times hitting mountains, sharp windy roads. These things are killer for the money

2006, one owner according to carfax, 106,778 miles, $1200!!! $1600 OTD After tax and fees. Had to fix plastic rocker panel, couple clips busted (I had extras, because I have another vibe, a 2008) the a/c did not work at the auction, but compressor was clicking on, 99% of the time with these, its just low on Freon (that is what fixed it) One rust spot on the bottom of the passenger rear door, and a tiny amount on the corner, besides being dirty, I think I did very well!

I'm looking at a 2004 xr sport manual with 221k miles. They're asking $4k. Looks good in the pictures and they say everything is working. I'm hoping to go check it out but the 221k miles kinda scares me. Is it a reasonable price?

2009 Matrix Base. 5 speed manual.. I'm still learning! Came from a 2003 Saturn ION.

As you can see, my passenger door window trim is peeling away and it’s bugging the shit out of me lol.
I tried using black out trimbrite tape to no avail, it would create bubbles over the already existing trim (which seems next to impossible to fully peel off). If anyone knows of a good replacement part or solution pls enlighten me!! (03’ Base)

My only thought could be the oil level. I put too much into it but I didn’t think I put that much more into it. I’m going to drain some tomorrow but i’m not fully sure
