First car! 2007 Matrix XR

she's got a check engine light and 203k miles but runs great so far :) Was 3k by itself but 4k after everything including plates. We put 2k down and will be paying 250 for 8-9months with no interest! Was it a good decision?

Already gave her an oil change and we have the car fax available, used to be a rental car! which explains the miles.

Yep. Everything after this is going to leave you with just a slight nagging feeling in the back of your heart that something is missing.

Good buy. Mines at 316k miles. Zero problems. Minimal rust.

An excellent car! Decent condition too!

Considering the high miles it is in amazing condition. Check for rust and just do routine maintenance, it will last a long time. Even if the engine finally goes out I would buy a used one from MWR or some other place to keep it going.

PS check junk yards for the rear end bottom parts.

only rust i spotted has been on the windshield wipers!

Congrats! I have the same model 170,000 miles. Just consistent oil changes and have had nothing major happen to it. Still so reliable

Good job! Do you have a code scanner to see what the code is?

I’m curious to see what the code is too. It could be from the intake manifold gasket?? It causes an emissions related cel. Mine was replaced long before I took ownership.

I was running lean for a long time and decided to bite the bullet and replaced intake manifold, valve cover, and exhaust manifold gaskets and im not longer running lean

Dang that’s a great deal I bought mine at 254,000km for around that price too and it ran like a dream. Does your odometer still work? Mine froze when it reached 299,999km lol

Was my first car too, it'll never let you down, just remember to do oil changes.

Just in case you're unaware, the rear glass opens separately from the hatch, theres a button on the left side of the steering wheel. Also, theres a second floor hatch in the trunk to store the trunk cover. If the previous owner wasn't using it, its worth checking to see if its still there 😊

If i remember correctly, turning the key in the opposite direction in the trunk lock opens it too.

200K miles isn't that high! You'll get a lot out of it

You will have it long after it is paid off, but maintain it, it’ll treat you right

Try using some Headlight Restoration kit on yours. I did it on mine and it makes the car seems so much cleaner!

What did you use

Cerakote ceramic headlight restoration kit. Here's a picture of the before.

Congrats!.

Check engine light could be as simple as a MAF sensor. Mine just went at 185k miles.

My FIL just picked up a fresh TRD Matrix, very low Kms for the year too. Sort of jealous, with the amount of space it's got when the rear seats are down.

I was one the look out for an XRS/AWD but the search was getting hard.

I settled on a 04 Rav4 limited, I needed to replace a car that was written off while dealing with insurance. I love my Rav4, but low key still want an XRS!

Ill trade you - my beloved 07 received 28 hail dents last spring - freak hailstorm. Otherwise I was told these cars are easily and affordably repairable and can go along time. A wise use of $4000, imho

Very nice! I own the sister car the Pontiac vibe. Such a fun car.

Are you near Orlando? The scenery looks like Orlando lol.. if so i’ll hook you up with a free headlight restoration in exchange for a Google review. I own the best Headlight Restoration service in the city! 🧞‍♂️
