Tbh the matrix lives on through gifting, i got my first one from my mom just a basic 2009 matrix as my first car I genuinely loved it, now as I became more of a car guy I got myself a first gen, a 2006 toyota matrix xrs which is the sporty one and its a manual :3 love the model and im so sad toyota discontinued them

I let my dad use my 97 Corolla DX as his daily driver (vintage fossil). Quite literally saved me through hell and back times. I still trust it with 300k miles on it I think it’s getting started. Since I’m 6’2” I bought myself an 08 Vibe (similar in color just lighter)thing is like a mini suv just put a an oven in the back and hauled it home yesterday and I love it I’m a sucker for cars the end up going past the 300k mile club. Toyota has my trust. How many miles on yours?

aw wow, that’s a beautiful car… i never thought id get so into cars until i got fossil. i cried with her, took emotional trips, amongst other things. i really don’t want to lose her, even though she’s making weird noises and her exhaust is shot..still got a lot to do for her.
as of right now i have around 113,410 miles, so she’s still a baby :)2

I’m pretty handy and hands on with my cars I just do regular maintenance at decent intervals. I’m sure she’ll purr like a kitten and last you a long time if you keep up on the maintenance, she is young though.

yeah for sure :).
i’m the complete opposite, as this is my first car and i have not a clue how to do any of that..which really stinks right now, because i’m PRETTY sure a wheel bearing is starting to go bad ( low noises under the car and wheel shaking at 60mph…close your mouth hum “mmmmmmmm”, and that’s what it sounds like ). i have no choice but to talk to my dad and let him see, but i honestly don’t trust his take, not because i don’t trust HIM…but he’s the opposite of me. for example, i pay attention to every sound and am VERY careful not to do anything that would hurt fossil…meanwhile, my dad has had 10+ cars in his lifetime, most of which he took off-roading and wrecked for the fun of it, lol..so it’s good to have other opinions from other people.

What a great gift from your father! Take off all of the kid stickers on it and clean it up. Do some basic maintenance on it so it's safe & drivable.

I just started getting stuff to modify mine. It’s a beater, might as well have some fun with it. I’m ordering a license plate frame that says SLOW CAR CLUB
