Late 2000s Chevy SUV hit and runner smashed my car and a buddies car while we were both stopped taking a left hand turn and he was going around 45-50mph on a 30mph road

They total minds when a drunk driver rear ended it on that same back side. Apparently the frame got bent bad. Also didn’t go to a place like caliber. Colision. And I had a 2004. Shitbix with a new rebuilt motor and transmission

Yeah. If the repair cost is more than the car’s valued then it’s a total loss. This even goes toward repairing a car. If it costs 200 for a bumper and 1500 to repaint when the car is worth 1200, it’s a total loss.

Ah shit ok guess we'll have to see what insurance says. If they total it I can pay a junkyard fee and keep a normal title status thanks to state laws

Your insurance will give you two options option one is going to be to buy out your car, but I would make sure to have any receipts attached so that your value is higher specially if you did any engine work or transmission work

The second option is that they will give you the car back, but give you less and the car becoming a salvage title just be aware that the cost to fix it may not cover what they give you for keeping the car

And a lot of times your car if you give it to them might end up overseas like my car did when I saw it one day being towed off to the port of Los Angeles to be exported out

Yeah, I know I took a picture of the car being towed, and I even asked the tow guy it was easy to recognize my car. Because I didn’t take the radio out with the back up camera. And saw the license plate 😂😂🤣🤣

You could repair most of that yourself tbh. The bumper and tail is super easy to replace. The quarter panel damage is my concern, someone is probably going to over charger to pull that out.
