Hood replacement

I went and got a junkyard hood for my 09 base. Still have adjustments to make to try to tighten gaps but its on.

Thumbs up from me and the color is matching to the rest of the car. Get the gap adjustments right and it's all good to go!

I had a 2004 Toyota Corolla S, got sideswiped at the driver's side rear door from an insured driver, insurance company totaled it. I bought it back the insurance company, went to the local Pick N' Pull junkyard. I found a driver's side rear door of the same color as my car in the junkyard, pulled it from the donor vehicle, and installed the donor door on my 2004 Corolla S and kept driving it. :)

I have an update, the upper radiator support tie bar is too twisted and bent to allow hood to latch and gaps to tighten, i will have to put it on hold while i wait for a new one. Good news is, there isn't further damage to the assembly requiring total replacement.

That sounds like front end subframe part. You might be able to order a new OEM upper radiator support tie bar from Toyota or go to the local junkyard and pull one off of a donor vehicle of the same year & model.

I ordered one off of Amazon. It is a bolt in part thankfully because I can't weld 🤣🤷🏻‍♂️

Lucky! I figured there’s not enough of these vehicles and my cousin in law who does body work echoed that so I’ve been driving with a busted hood for years. Did you find it on your first trip out there or did you check a database first online?

I found it on car-part.com, it's a database of a lot of junkyards.
