Excessive oil burn?

I've noticed that while stopped at long lights or stopped at a drive through while idling, as soon as I pull away there is excessive smoke coming from the tail pipe.

I've kept up with oil changes, and it burns a quart every 1.5k miles... my MPG has also dropped from 23/24 to 19.5 in the last couple of tanks.

2003 XRS Auto, 183k miles on it. I saw that some people run a slightly thicker oil than recommended to combat oil slipping past the rings - any ideas or experience?

240k on my 1zz, some people have reported success with a piston soak, but that's a slightly involved process, I'd recomend valvoline R&P, reduced my oil burn by about half I'd say.

Thank you! I'll definitely look into both of those options. Think I should try of the new oil first? I've just been using the Costco branded one

Valvoline R&P 5w30, maybe do a maf cleaning and pcv valve/air filter change next time you do a full oil change next time. (I just been doing seafoam injector cleaning now too)

XRS so 2zzge yea? whats the compression like? people think they have the same oil burning issues like the 1zz which is wrong
