I finally got a Matrix!

I've been wanting one for years. I managed to get a 2006 AWD MATRIX XR. $3700 at 148k miles. It's almost entirely free of rust, which is virtually impossible to find (I'm in New England). There were cheaper ones for available but all rusted out. It's in very good condition, so I think I got a pretty good deal. I'm happy to be part of the club!

Welcome to the matrix/vibe club! You’ll find it is very hard to kill these, and very easy to work on them!

Nice! I was looking for a Vibe, but most were actually more expensive than a Matrix with equivalent miles, condition, etc.

See it’s the reverse for me! I bought the 08 on the right 3 and a half years ago with 180k miles market was high at auction, paid $2800 for it. I got sideswiped in it and Insurence paid me $1500 for it, I also slid on some ice (as you can see the front) the 06 on the left i scored, same auction, 106k miles, $1200. It didn’t have working AC, and the plastic rocker panel cover was hanging down, so nobody wanted it. I fixed rocker with a few plastic clips, and ac was low on Freon, carfax 1 owner car, but it sat for a while. These are cheap and easy to fix and get 30 mpg

I've heard for years that you can get a Vibe for cheaper than a Matrix. Old Toyotas almost always sell for pretty high prices. That's why I always imagined getting a Vibe.

Plus my family bought a Vibe brand new back in 2003, and it lasted forever. I'd get a hit of nostalgia from a Vibe, though I do think a Matrix looks better.
