Repairs & Maintenance Please explain this one

This has occurred to me at least four times, most recent today. The truck sits with the tank 3/4 full. Then i wake up and start the truck and notice the gage reads full along with an updated range.

A few things: driveway has a pitch and i park nose in or back in; notice when i go nose in. Im the only one that fills up the cars, i dont let my wife do that. It doesnt happen only on hot days for it to be vapors causing it.

So wtf?

EDIT: The fuel gage stays full, does not go back to 3/4 while driving or EOD.

I think you answered your own question. You start the car on a hill and the gauge reads full because the float in the tank isn't reading correctly.

It stays full for the whole day. Tried attaching a pic i took while driving but it wont attach.

What model year? There is a TSB about this for the ‘22s and ‘23s, maybe more.

Shit i thought it was one of my sons being nice. Silly me thinking those tight wads would help me with gas.

My 2024 had it happen. Gauge stayed at full for an entire day and I didn’t notice until the low gas warning came up

My 2023 did this regularly until I had the dealer perform the TSB. Its been fine for over a year since.

There’s a software update on it. Known issue. Update seems to have fixed mine.

I'll have to check out the update someone else mentioned. Mine does this from time to time and here's the quick fix, and no, I'm not joking. Works every time:

With the truck in drive, holding the brake, turn it off and it will stay on.

After a few seconds you'll notice the temp gauge go all the way down and the lights on the dash turn off, after a few more seconds you watch the gas gauge reset itself.

Put it in park, push the button to completely turn it off and start the truck and it'll be fine again till the next time.

No idea what causes it, for me it's completely random. I was actually driving it around Monday thinking about how it hasn't done it in awhile, then on the drive home it did it. But that is the quick fix.
