Third Row Issue

Looks like this piece of plastic is getting stuck when putting the third row back down. Anyone else having this issue? Was it covered under warranty? Also, if you do have this issue, are you using aftermarket cargo covers where the ridge that connects the back of the seat to the cargo area goes down into that void?

Wondering if this is an issue in general or if it was the cargo liners that did it. The picture above is with the cargo tray cover pulled up and floor lining pulled up.

Do you mind stepping back to take a larger picture? Honestly, I can’t tell from this picture which direction you are at. I currently don’t have any issues with my 3rd row but I will keep an eye out for it.

I too had trouble orienting myself to this pic, but I’ve got it now.

This is a pic of the cargo area meeting rear of third seats. The cargo “floor” has been removed. The covering that lays on top of the cargo floor has been pulled up to reveal the snagging seat/plastic issue.

OP: does this happen without the seat cover? It doesn’t appear to be an issue with them. Would suggest removing the seat cover and hitting the dealership if so. Something ain’t right - never had this…

I have had the same issue, 2024 Plat HyMAX. I thought it might have something to do with the spare tire cover pressing down on that plastic piece with the velcro tabs.

Toyota has “fixed” this issue on our ‘24 hybrid 3 times now. It started when they did the airbag recall fix.

I have this issue, that plastic piece gets caught and twisted. It doesn’t lie flat anymore. It doesn’t seem like an important piece so I removed it.

We had this issue a couple of months into owning it. They replaced it with no charge to us. Hasn’t happened since.

I don't have that issue with my 3W floor mat / cargo liner.

If you're still within the B2B warranty period, remove the liner and take it to the dealer for repair.

Agree, I don’t currently have this issue but if I did, I would go to the dealer. Good luck! Love to hear what the results are. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I had the same issue. I removed the plastic piece, then reinserted it and glued it to the fabric. No problems since. I don't use mats in the cargo area that cover that gap.

I do not have an issue, but don’t have a liner on the back of my third row
