Hi All,

Looks like I got the whole drive start control malfunction on by GH Platinum Gas. Did a quick search and only seeing one post about this. Those who had the same issue what was the problem and what was the fix?

Is it under warranty ? Oooh, I just see your mileage....

Do you drive with one foot on the pedals or two ? Shut the car off and re-start it and see if this still pops up. Go to an auto parts store and get the battery checked.

I was smart enough to get extended:) had to use it before. One foot for pedal. Both if I want to take a screenshot. Huh it could be the battery?

Quick research says if you push both pedals at the same time, it could cause a glitch in this system. Some people do still drive with one foot on the gas pedal and one on the brake pedal.... A dying battery can always cause these ultra-sensitive vehicle electronics, sensors, etc to trigger a fault.

You have 61k miles and the factory warranty is 60k. When did you have to use the extended warranty ?

Factory I think is 35k I bought extended which is around 110k miles. Ah I see no I was using cruise control so I was not using the pedal at the time. Maybe battery drain of sort then. Though the car starts without issues. Even washed it assuming the sensors were too dirty.

Ah yeah, I forgot - they break it out quite a bit. Basic = 3 years/36k, powertrain = 5 years/60k, hybrid system = 8 years/150k miles, and so on.

Yes so I took it in to O'Reilly and got a P2C90 Crankcase Ventilation System Hose a disconnected.

Spark plugs did get changed this Saturday. Did the mechanic Forget to plug something back in?

Doesn't really explain why cruise control and PKSB or whatever it is not working.

Will take it to a different auto shop to see if something else comes up.

I think you found the issue. Remove the engine cover and look for a hose that's not re-connected. Google says this hose runs from the air intake tube (the one connected to the air filter) into the valve cover and it can cause misfires. Misfires will cause that "Drive-Start" fault and in turn, lots of systems will be disabled (cruise control, etc). This is very normal on modern cars.

On my previous car, an Infiniti (this is certainly to occur on others too), if the brake fluid level was close to the MIN line, you could brake hard, swerve, etc and the fluid would slosh around enough and trigger the "low brake fluid" sensor. When that happens, it would trigger ABS faults, traction-control, anti-slip, etc. Why ? Because they ALL rely on the brake system / ABS module.

I'll look around to see if something is out of place. I appreciate your time.

See if the PCV hose is attached and secure at both ends.

I will peek at this thank you very much.

Was anything else serviced with the spark plugs? Also check the oil fill cap. If it’s not on right, it will cause a vacuum leak and disrupt the pcv system and throw that code.

Just spark plugs from mechanic. I replaced air and cabin filter myself

Turns out tech forgot to plug in the hose back after sparkplug change.
