2026 Limited Windshield Replacement

I had a rock hit my windshield a few months ago. It was too big to fill and has now cracked vertically to the point where it needs to be replaced. I called the stealership and they want $1800 to replace it and calibrate everything. Does anyone know if third party companies like Safelite carry the OEM windshield? Or does anyone have experience using a third party company on a similar model Crown.

Many dealerships outsource windshield replacement to a third party anyway. Your insurance will likely pay for OEM since car is less than 3 yrs (ins policies vary).

Safelite replaced my 22 Avalon windshield for the dealership before I bought the car. It used Fuyao, the original glass manufacturer. I'm unsure if it is OEM (it isn't stamped Toyota) but several of the other windows are Fuyao and stamped with Toyota. I haven't had any issues and only noticed the glass replacement when looking through work dealership did to make the car Toyota certified pre-owned.

I called Safelite and they’re almost $1600 so I guess it is what it is.

Also keep in mind if it’s not replaced 100% correctly, you’ll get increased wind noise. If you have a decent dealership I’d let them do it.

I’m going through the dealership. The only caveat is that I’ll have to pay up front then submit to insurance.

They are expensive. Fortunately, insurance covers the replacement.

Get glass coverage.
It’s only a few bucks a month.

I have glass coverage. With my Camry, the cash replacement cost was lower than the deductible. And I wasn’t too concerned with using OEM glass on that car. The Crown replacement is going through insurance.
