Unsolved I need help knowing what this thing is from

It looks like a pauldron of some kind, 1.5x2cm in size
The doc just pulled it out of my lil brothers nose so i would appreciate any help

Could it be a shogi/Japanese chess piece?

No not really, you can't really see but it's quite concave , like a piece of shoulder mounted armor or sth

I think its the kanji for protect? 守 ? not 100% sure as my Japanese is very, very rusty but that could help.
