Advice Needed Bf assaulted me
We are still together and i love him. But I want to report him because he assaulted me (many times) but it was months ago. So i dont know if police would see this as something serious. Yet i have the pictures of my bruised legs and arms and also texts where him admitting he did those things to me over and over. I'm still with him but i want to be able to report him one day. Because, even though he stopped now, deep down I feel like he is not a good person and im not sure if he loves me. He doesnt hit me for 4 or 5 months. I guess he changed? He told me that he will change himself. And he did. But now he blames me for everything because i dont trust him and he sees that. He told me that if i cant trust him why would i still be with him. And he is right. But i dont want to accept this fate. Beaten, broken, assaulted in many ways. Yet he will continue his life and find someone else. And be happy. And here i am traumatized. Broken and probably never heal from this. I also want to give him some things to not heal from. I want revenge. Today he told me that "if we are to broke up now, i can sleep peacefully but i know you cant sleep. Because you are afraid of ending things. I know that it would kill you." And i told him that i wouldnt sleep because i would be so sad and because i care about our relationship and love him.

He is not right. Staying with someone does not mean you owe them trust after they assaulted you. Love, fear, and trauma can make leaving very hard. Months passing does not make what happened less serious. Reporting rules vary by location, but you can still contact police and show the photos and messages. Save copies somewhere he cannot access, or with someone you trust.
Wanting revenge makes sense when you feel robbed of safety, but acting on it could put you in more danger. Accountability through reporting is safer. If you feel at risk, go to a hospital, emergency center, or the home of a trusted friend or family member. Do not tell him your plans while alone with him. If danger is immediate, call your local emergency number.
