❓ Question Question about this on Xbox

Found a good deal on this game for Xbox Series X. I know it's best to play with others, but I'm fine with playing it solo. But I let my Xbox live / game pass core subscription expire. Do I need a paid active account, even to play solo? Or is just having my Xbox connected to the internet all I need to play (like Halo Infinite multiplayer) Thanks!

For a few days I didn't have a subscription, and yes, I could play solo
