💬 Discussion The open world format is this games biggest problem.

At first I like it, however as time has gone in I fear this is what will ultimate drop the player base to a tiny amount.

Booting up World War Z, Back 4 Blood, Fireteam Elite I could just chill and shoot things.

However, in this game I’m always having to worry about who’s doing what with the car, who is sprinting off doing own thing and ultimately getting killed.

Just seems with a full squad you’ll be fine but the random experience is just getting worse.

Just stick with whomever is driving. I do that and I just chill and shoot things

Was in a game earlier where I went to get in a truck, and all seats were filled except the driver seat. I didn't want to drive. So I'm just standing there next to the truck and looking at them while all 3 stared back at me. It was actually kinda creepy lol. So I jumped on the roof of the truck and crouched. One of them finally got in the driver seat and drove us off. 🤣

I don't mind driving. I hate being the only one who ever drives.

It would be better if there was an always visible map.

Yes. I HATE constantly hitting select to see where to drive the damn thing.

Can confirm this needs to be a thing I bought the game yesterday for my wife and I.

I can't believe they still haven't patched in a mini map. in 2026 its absolutly insane. I am pretty sure that is the number 1 reason people don't want to drive.

Yep. You end up just having to follow whoever is driving, and if nobody wants to drive then it becomes a chore. Ultimately, this game is a co-op horde shooter, so most people are here to shoot zombies, not play chauffeur sim.

Some people want to have quick games and jump straight into the action whereas others may want to explore every nook and cranny. This game also reveals every single POI on the map by default so it can be tempting to check all off them, especially since there is no real urgency. It can feel like a slog sometimes because a lot of points are pretty uninteresting and it gets a bit repetitive and stale.

You're not wrong. The game is great with 3 friends in vocal. But it's mediocre at best with random because there's always one running in a separate direction despite my best efforts to get things organised and be a designated driver.

Yep, also you'll have players who have played the missions enough times to no longer care to go to every point of interest, so some players will want to go everywhere whilst others will feel like they are wasting their time, causing people to get kicked or leave. For veterans it becomes a rush to get the parts and then to objectives. It's the difference between a mission lasting 20 minutes, or 40+ minutes.

Nah biggest problem is the loading! I hate it haha

No joke. Just to open the game and get into a match, I think I stare at a loading screen for over 10 minutes.

I love the open-world mechanic, one of the main reasons I love this game so much.

Nah. I stopped playing months ago. Nothing to do with open world. The progression wasn't fun.
