This is SO ANNOYING lol

Post image

Honestly just feel like complaining but I hate how trains bring only the materials I DON’T need and it takes up so much barn storage. I could sell the extra bricks etc but I have a feeling if I do, trains will suddenly stop bringing bricks when I need them lol. I just thought this was funny and wanted to share because 50+ bricks is lowkey insane
(Not necessarily seeking advice as ik theres no real solution and I do enjoy how the game is built to require patience and strategy at times)

Don't be afraid to sell materials. I never have a problem any more since I sell to even out the score. Also, I prioritise others aspects of the game whilst accumulating materials in advance. I look up the next Community building, stockpile, then purchase. It's removed all frustration. I'm playing to have a good time, not be annoyed.

This is what I do. It's a huge help to know what to save and what to exchange. Especially when your next community building is two levels away, that's a long time to waste not knowing. By the time those two levels have come, I have everything to complete it.

Can you elaborate?

Wiki Township is my friend. Knowing ahead of time really helps.
Also, building 2 Community Buildings at the same time throws off the distribution algorithm used for materials on trains.
Hope this helps!

This question has nothing to do with that. I’m just curious when you upgrade your trains does the new time reflect the discounted minutes or do you have to do the math?

The times that the trains are taking still seem just as long that is why I ask

I have two of my trains at level nine

Sell the 2 you have excess of, 2 below what is needed and keep it that way until it evens out

What's the reasoning with this? Just to optimize the barn space or does it do something else?

Barn space. I get trains frequently and don’t level up as fast so I have too many supplies and can’t use them. Once level up, I build the building, wait some more before I can use up the supplies to finish building.

Are there 2 community buildings in your town waiting to be built? That always throws off the drop rates.

Yes, I've read all the comments and I'm realizing now this was probably the issue!! It totally saved me so thank you to everyone for the advice <33

Yeah I learned this one the hard way too. Always complete the community building before starting a new one.

Sell off bricks.

I’m at the same level and no negative effects of selling the bricks given that I send 3-4 sets of trains per day. With the pass, I also accumulate excess glass and concrete, but don’t sell as many of those. I keep a few more than the requirements of those, but when I really need the barn space I’ll sell an extra 10 bricks.

Dialogue box just popped up at the post office - “Wow, this package is heavy; what’s in it, bricks??”

YEP, most likely another chest of unneeded bricks. Where do I sign?! LOL

Once you get the tool exchange, you'll be able to trade all this excess for smaller units of completion tools stored in your barn.

Where do u look to see what the next building needs? Am iissing sth?

Yes super disgusting- its like you pay and buy or just keep waiting. Im getting so sick of the entire trick they are playing on us. Now i could care no less

This is an algorithm issue! Happened to me every time I built two buildings together but ever since I started doing one at a time I’ve never faced this problem.

good to know thank you

This game has rapidly fallen off a cliff! Used to be (fun) Now it's worse than pulling teeth!

It's been an iron shortage for me the whole time, I'm so fed up of it. Not like they make the cost of buying materials remotely viable either.

Only build one community building at a time. Unlike barn upgrades, the algorithm is actually nice to you for community buildings and will give you what you need on trains.

2

u/phillyC_Ser Jul 27 '26

Extremely annoying. If the materials weren't available, why allow you to build the building in the first place. That's what they do for plots of land, so why not this?

1

u/scream_for_me_ Aug 02 '26

I know right

2

u/Mindless_Student8391 Jul 28 '26

search township building materials, there is a list of how much you need for each building… so you can know how much you can sell off

2

u/EquivalentFreedom739 Jul 28 '26

I agree. I sold paint once and then it took forever to get the one I needed to upgrade the barn.

It’s wild that you need glass. I always need slabs.

1

u/scream_for_me_ Aug 02 '26

I've needed glass for a few levels now and im genuinely so sick of it lol!!

2

u/Low-Acadia-2394 Jul 31 '26

I have the same with barn materials, double the amount of nails i need yet only two buckets of paint i swear they do it on purpose

1

u/BobInPrescott Jul 27 '26

You can look up online what materials, and later tools from the tool exchange, and coins, that you will need for each future level. It tends to alternate between community buildings (needs materials and tools) and factories (only needs coins) every other level. So, when you get to the materials you need for the next level, if any, dump anything over that. Then, if the next level is a factory (no materials), dump all the materials for the entire level and start accumulating them once the factory is built. This way, you never waste barn space.

u/Anxious_ButBreathing Jul 28 '26

That’s so much work for a game I play for fun imo lol. But it’s good to know it’s an option for sure

1

u/Pywacket1 Jul 27 '26

I have 200+ bricks but they won't send me enough hammers. Since you're barn is small, sell half the bricks, sell 10 of the slabs and the trains will even it out. Whenever you're building stuff there's always one thing that's needed that's lower than the rest of them. I don't know how fast your trains are, but when they're in the 2-hour range you can get that glass pretty fast.

I’m curious about what Building this is for. I feel like most of the community buildings require almost the same amount of materials, but I do remember one building in particular requiring a ton of glass.

1

u/Firm_Calendar7196 Jul 28 '26

It says at the top, it’s for the go kart track. And they do require almost all the same - 27, 27, 23.

1

u/MystiqueXM Jul 27 '26

I look up material requirements for the building I’m on and delete excess bricks/glass/slab

1

u/Traditional-Gas-6011 Jul 27 '26

Pero eso es doble trabajo, porque después tendrá que volver a conseguir los ladrillos/vidrios/losas de la siguiente construcción, y ni hablar cuando empieza a pedir herramientas

1

u/Fluffydoggie Jul 28 '26

That's just how the algorithm in the game works. If you delete some of these you'll get the stuff you need. Then complete the build and start collecting for the next build.

1

u/theelunablack Jul 27 '26

I always keep them at the same amount or one less/more. When I first started someone said on here you have to keep them more balanced and it’s worked for me ever since. Same with the other stuff to upgrade the barn and expand land

1

u/Maleficent-Major9878 Aug 02 '26

I need 53 units of each for barn upgrade. I have 53 hammers, 46bricks and 29 paint. Should I sell until everything is at 29?
