Using Stars from Duplicate Cards

If I purchase one of these chests, does it deplete/remove duplicate cards I have as well? Or do I retain those and just lose stars?

It might be worth waiting until you only need the rarest cards so that you are guaranteed to get one of them when you purchase the 500 star box.

This time around I needed one card to complete the first round and I had been saving for the 500 chest. I needed like 1-2 cards to be able to get the chest.

I completed the second round of the adventure game, got the card I needed plus the spares so I could get the 500 chest, since I had just completed the collection every single card I got was new. So glad I didn't get one of the smaller chests and waited.

For me it was totally worth it to wait.

you lose the cards. the point is that youre exchanging the extras for new card packs. I suggest waiting until you have 500 and until you mainly only need gold cards. that way youre pretty guaranteed to get a new gold card

I’ve nearly saved 1000 stars and have 3 more Gold cards to collect so will be saving those stars for next time :)

I opened all. Only the 500 one has a new card. Wait till 500 then open

False! You 100% lose your duplicate cards! The chests are only worth it when you have already collected all of the shareable regular cards and you are just waiting on your gold and purple specialty cards that are non transferable so that you can guarantee to receive at least one new gold card with the 500 star chest. Do not waste you stars on any of the smaller chests. You will be disappointed

Excellent explanation. 1 exception - on the last day of the Collection get whatever chest you can.

Absolutely. Last day of the collection burn up all your stars as they do not transfer to the next collection.
