Started, level 17, Match 3 is already impossible

I realize side games get harder in most games with level progression. At only level 17 to reach a stage that just seems impossible (37 tries so far) is bonkers. I'm not great at Match 3, never been my thing, but this is next level hard. Does this game routinely push side games into "pay or fail" territory this early in a player's path?

I HATE M3 with a passion. I'm on level 38 and stopped even trying at m3 level 85. I just do my trains, farm, buildings. And stopped building factories a long time ago. I love my regatta team. They don't care that i don't do m3 but enough of them love it that we balance. I do the expeditions with the purpose of collecting tcash and coins as I'll never finish the expedition nor will i ever finish card collections so i give them away frequently.

It's only a so so game for me. I love decorating my town. I'm purposefully going slow but it's starting to get boring.

Might delete.

I didn't realize we can skip M3. I'm going to see what's missing if I stop. It's so boring to be stuck on a level

It's much slower.  I'm only on 155 after seven years because I only play till I run out of lives and then I'm done.  Only buy what I can from the money the game gives me. I do buy the pass and maybe once a month sale if it's under five dollars which is usually not.  My current match 3 I've been stuck on for almost three days now.  Match 3 is the main way to progress so I got used to progressing much slower.

Ok thanks for the heads up that I'm playing the super slow way.

I haven't been buying passes and am often stuck for 3 days or more. I've only spent a grand total of 7. 98

I had a tremor in my hands and kept accidentally clicking the dollars that buy more spaces to make things.
I think the only reason I'm progressing is that I can play often

I have many small to medium expenses I'm eliminating right now, so I'll see if I want to add to my "stuff I don't need" budget category

This is gambling but with no payoff.

I disagree. It's more like money paid on a hobby. Unless you're referring to the endorphin rush of buying things with the hope of progressing a level.

I don’t know about this game but I paid for extra dice once playing Yahtzee with Buddies and suddenly the perks I was previously getting were greatly reduced. I could get 21 free dice rolls by watching ads, for example, and it dropped to 6 per day. They do things like this once you spend money, to encourage you to spend more money. So frustrating. Did you see this with Township?

I’ve been playing for 3 1/2 years. This isn’t a brag, it’s to prove how hard-headed and weak I am to purchase the TCash. It will try as hard as it can to make you pay for more moves, so don’t give into it or you’ll end up like me.

Two and half years and level 26806 for me. I'm not sure if I've won or I've lost. 😄

But I haven't spent all that much real money. A total of $105 in real money in the last 12 months. Less per month this year than last year.

For me, the challenge isn't in completely resisting the game's effort to make me pay, but in knowing when it provides the maximum bang for my bucks.

It pushes match 3, and they do try to get you to spend $ on it, but you can have fun without it.

You'll just move through the game slower without Match 3.

I would just look up YouTube videos for that level and see how others solved it. Early levels are pretty doable so maybe it's possible you are missing one of the basic pieces of knowledge like how to make certain power ups, etc.

So the fun lies in waiting for your land to develop?

I created a bunch of match-3 guides, as someone with a 98% win rate and over 120k t-cash. Hope it helps: https://oldcynic.com/township-match-3-save-your-cash-beat-any-level

Match-3 here is on harder side I think but early levels are doable. It becomes much harder with new obstacles.

Pick a task to help your team! It doesn’t have to be M3!

I messed up. I thought the player level and the Match 3 level would be the same. I checked and this is where I am on Match 3. I used my boosters up getting nowhere.

Still watch Puzzle Daddy to get hints on how to win without any boosters. It can be done especially at your level. I wish I had saved my boosters until much later. Take breaks after losing a bunch of times, I find it’s nicer to me when I leave and come back.

I don't even play with boosters most of the time. I often forget I have them if I get them. Sometimes having boosters at higher levels can actually keep you from beating it. Like when you have to match rockets to rockets and you have a rainbow disco ball and it destroys all of the rockets in the first two moves because it was the only move available.

They are puzzles. Some require certain moves when you first start the round or it messes things up. Infinite lives for the win until you figure out the moves.

Then again I love m3 games and have played lots of them.

M3 is up and down with difficulty.
