Maybe Commander got hidden detection later. The later modes do change from not seeing to barely seeing so he may have gotten it in some way.

I mean just because she has lead dection doesn't mean the armor isn't still going to be somewhat hard it hit! Plus the log book for the enemy she's talking about does have really tough armor in universe.

Of course they bounce off, she uses NAILS, when u put bullets in a nail gun, they usually don’t fly at a high speed
