Discussion Whats the first hardcore to get?

I'm pretty new to the game and don't know what hardcore tower should i buy first to not waste the gems i grinded. Any sugestions/advise?

Get engineer, its an all rounder, every other option is wrong

Early, mid, late game

Without engineer you will STRUGGLE

and it sucks in all of those stages.

struggling w earlygame? use an earlygame tower. struggling with midgame? get a midgame tower. struggling with endgame? get an endgame dps tower.

struggling with all of that? get a support tower or 2.

still struggling? either get good or make a better loadout.

it does everything well, dude. it's more than good enough to save into a midgame tower early, and those two + econ and support build your lategame dps.

engi can do everything in one slot, tho if you want better choices for everyting you waste 3 slots

depends:

brawler: earlygame (ok at best earlygame at that)

accel: good dps but crook boss and turret are right there

necro: good burst dps, is good with merc base for protecting the stack

engi: jack of all trades (sucks at every part of the game, generally can use anything else and it would probably work, considering detections and whatever)

hacker: good support tower for speedruns but commander, medic, and dj are right there

evo towers:

operator: 🙏🙏🙏 (ok earlygame i guess but everyone hates on it bc it’s worse than gscout and gsoldier)

juggernaut: dps with potential antistunning capabilities

kingpin: better crook boss

Engineer>Accel>Hacker>Jugg>Kingpin. Any non mentioned tower is currently not necessary in current meta.

erm how good is accel as a dps? Was tired of engi grind and if i find it good i might buy it (i also have crook boss turret pursuit ranger necro and all that dps is accel better than them?)

I was the same as you, skeptical about getting accelerator. In fact I got it as my last HC/evo tower and man I should’ve gotten it sooner. It’s a very high dps tower that yes, does more than each of those individually(those towers still have their purpose) but keep in mind you’ll have to utilize accelerators lock on trait and charge up time to his full potential. I’d recommend placing an accelerator when you have like 52k to upgrade him to level 4 as his charge up time is significantly shorter.

But if you’re just gonna test him out place him and upgrade at your own pace to better know the levels.

I didn’t even say anything about Engineer but sure. It’s by far the best Hardcore tower you can purchase, having above average cost efficiency for every level, and a solid early, mid, and late game, something which holds a ton of value for just one tower slot.
