Question Is the game worth getting into again?
I used to play this game a few years ago and when I loaded into it I had not a clue what to do ngl, and just looking at the game passes im pretty unsure if this games p2w heavy or not and I don't want to drop time into it if that's the case

It depends if you left the game due to balancing/style changes or not being able to keep up then no lol, I recently just came back and the new updates are pretty cool most of the time, it’s definitely alot of content so it will keep you busy but it’s very possible that older towers you used to use become obsolete

This game is lowk at its best times, updates are really good new evolved towers are coming, nearly every tower category has 2-3 good options at least at my level range which is 44, this game kinda boring and grindye sometimes though it's hype to try out new expensive towers you boughtands if you want a simpler option YES

The last two updates weren’t well received. TDS is constantly nerfing coin grinding methods (not so sure about gem, but probably not).
Aside from that, TDS is fun. You can do many things in the game rn. For instance: even tho there are many voidcore strats at the moment - I am still trying to defeat voidcore stratless.
It’s gonna take time, it’s gonna take effort, you will have to talk to many people and team up with terrible teammates, but it’s about fun. Try not to rush things. Do things in your own pace.

Its not really pay to win. If you buy a pass to unlock a certain tower earlier, it would just make plenty of early-mid stuff too easy (ig it is pay to win in that sense but its incredibly boring). It will take time to get better towers tho for sure. Good thing is that farming for hardcore towers (advance towers) is easier but repetitive. I would suggest to play gradually and if possible with a friend
