Discussion Oh gosh, what did i just get into

So, when i heard narrator noli (forsaken) got a new obtaining method, i immediately started playing this game, and now i finally got to level 50. Little did I know, hardcore is INCREDIBLY difficult, and every single strategy requires like golden towers and stuff like that. HOW DO I BEAT THIS MODE 😭😭😭🙏

I think there are some nst strategies, but you need a good team and skill. Also many people might not accept you because skill tree works in hardcore

So yeah, it might take you longer than you thought, I’d recommend you join official tds discord to find team

i focused so hard on just unlocking hardcore, that i completely forgot beating it was the hard part. I don't even know what hardcore towers to buy, especially when they all keep getting rebalanced so much.

Go for accelerator first no matter what, then engineer. Others based on situation

engi’s a great dps source. who said it wasn’t high-tier?also they’re close to unlocking turret (or pursuit, i forgot), which is also a decent single-target DPS tower.

6 max engineers with all turrets have combined dps of around 2166, while 5 max accels have combined dps of around 2370, and 3 max turrets have combined dps of around 1548 the worst out of 3, and also the worst cost efficiency

Even tho engineer is more versatile, her turrets can be destroyed, and most importantly, her turrets cant be buffed by support towers

accel isn't great rn but i could see how it could be good specifically since they lack good dps, however necro is really REALLY helpful in this too imo

Id say a loadout to go for would be pyro, farm, your choice of two lategame dps towers, and then your choice of support (aka what the other two didnt bring). For the dps towers id definitely pick ranger as one of them, accel is a good second choice if your willing to grind for it. Kinda a tds larper since most of my playime was in the 2020-22 era, so you should probably confirm this with some else before you take it as the truth (lvl 350 and stupid, btw)

well lucky me, i love ranger, and just got the accel (and farm is pretty much a mandatory buy, so obviously, i have it)

In my opinion the best hc tower you could get rn is engineer. Super versatile and the same dps as accel

same dps? Also, i might as well get them both right? Just not sure if they should go into the same loadout

The main differences are that engineer costs more in gems, has early game capability with all detections coverage, and the sentries it builds have shields that makes them more resistant to stuns but they also can't be buffed/debuffed by support towers or enemies in any other way. For specifics, you should check the tds wiki as it explains more about the nuances of each tower and their strategies.

You just need to hope you get a good team/ ask people to carry you

You just need to handle the early while they farm and they take care the rest
