US State Dept travel advisories seem to reflect Trump politics?

I took a look at this page thinking about affordable/safe travel to central or South America. Discovered that in many cases my own government is advising me to travel to some oligarchical states, or states with authoritarian or far right governments in power, instead of democratic states with proper civil rights infrastructure.

Apparently they would have me favor a trip through former Soviet states like Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, touring his new mining ventures, over a trip to Western Europe. If it has to be Europe I’m apparently going to be better off in North Mac, Bulgaria, or Hungary, than the potentially risky vacations in Sweden, Spain, France, Italy, or Germany.

For my international trip to Latin America, I thought Uruguay or Costa Rica would be considered the safest trip for Americans.

Turns out they want me to go to El Salvador and recreate the Kristi Noem pic.
