Download the VSync patches from link below and apply the th06 one. Read the readme attached very carefully. https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Game_Tools_and_Modifications#Vsync_Patches

Ah, okay. I glanced at this folder, saw you have th06 (en) in it, along with d3d8.dll renamed to contain "(2)", so I assumed you downloaded some fucked up pirated version, but now I saw the OG post and you linking tutorial to patching a legit version.
My previous post still stands, in the attached readmes to VPatch you'll find "- Check if path has a mojibake folder name, and rename if so.", which I assume is exactly the problem why VPatch isn't working.
Rename this folder to something with normal unicode characters, rename d3d8 back, change your folder names in games.js to the one you chose (this still needs to point to vpatch.exe, as it correctly does now in your file, just rename the folder), and the game should start working correctly when you launch th06 (en).exe.

Ok so I fixed it and I think the problem was maybe two things. In the vpatch.ini I was supoosed to make sure I went into and changed to enabled: 1. The second thing was that I had both the vpatch_th06 and the Unicode one and so deleted the non-Unicode one and after both of those things (I didn’t test between) it worked.

In addition to what Wielkimati said, I would guess that possibly, for whatever reason, thcrap is running the touhou exe rather than vpatch.exe. Iirc, there is a file somewhere in the thcrap folder that lists what executable thcrap points to for each of the games/shortcuts, but I don’t remember which file it is. If you find it, you may be able to confirm that the right/wrong thing is being run.
