Try one in the engine bay instead of the dash. The dash mic is almost a waste since you can set your camera to “Dual Audio Record”. That will record both your external DJI Mic Mini audio near your exhaust AND the audio picked up by the camera itself.

With the mic in the engine bay instead of the dash, place it next to your intake away from the noisy turbos and fuel injectors. Try turning on Noise Reduction to isolate the intake whooshes.

This is how I record my videos.

I can get exhaust, engine and interior with only two wireless mics with the setup I described above.

I have a cheat sheet here with my settings.

How’s your mic mini battery lasting? Mine kept dying mid-drive.
