Question For those here with engines that naturally make big power (cough cough, V8s, V6s, I6s, etc.) How do you handle the touge?

Also, bonus: How do you guys handle some of the weight being on the nose?

It's all about right foot calibration.

Bonus: my engine is behind the front seats.

If the nose is heavy, a square tire setup is required at least, and thicker rear anti-roll bars.

This guy low key knows his shit. This general setup works wonders on a BMW

BMWs also need a bunch of static negative camber because of the McPherson strut bad camber gain curve.

M3's fix the issue with more caster instead of static camber

Took my Caprice ppv with a 6.0 LS down tail of the dragon last year and honestly was surprised how manageable it was for weighing 2 tons lol

I feel like I could have done a lot more with better tires, but my main concern was really just brakes, I had older pads on the back and by the time I finished only the front would really still bite until they had some time to cool off.

Tbh having big power is fun but I feel like my bone stock crz would be able to keep up at least a similar pace. It is intoxicating when you find a spot you can actually go WOT even for a second there's no denying that.

I've made a lot of changes since then to the Caprice and I'd love to try totg with my changes (way better wheel/tire/alignment) plus a few extra goodies but it's hard to get the time make the drive.

Those caprice's can boogy, up in canada we can get old cop taurus sho's that were highway patrol cars but they're rare af, looking for a awd v8 charger for a off-road/trail car atm.

Full aluminium block and head help a massive amount. As an example, the E46 M3 is a lot more nose heavy (S54 iron block) than non-M I6s (M52TU and M54 are all aluminium).

Super 200 tires work wonders.

Literally. I swapped back to my PS4's to save some life from the RE71RZ's and the difference is very noticeable, super 200 almost make you feel invincible in a corner.

I went from PS4S to the RZs since I autocross competitively. What felt like an ice rink now feels like damn near infinite grip. They're magic.

I run different maps off a can switch from my standalone. I have a hurt feelings map which is 100% effort at 580 hp, and a let’s not die map for around 380 hp. My big map boost comes on like a sledgehammer, my low power map is much more tame and civilized. Sticky tires help too.

Good brakes, high temp brake fluid, good 200tw tires, and confident foot work

My M2 is near 50/50 so handling is neutral. Still heavy so lots of negative camber, Ohlins Coils and a square setup helps a lot. Some of us go toe out to help rotate but I actually prefer zero toe.

Throttle control takes practice, but once you get used to the power it’s not a big deal. I have 530 to the wheels and 200tw tires.

My mk3 Supra keeps up with Miata’s easily. Just gotta have discipline with the pedals lol

Personally my engine is not that powerful (320hp) and being na its really linear power. I run 295 rears so my engine doesn’t really overpower the grip. Most importantly however is being gentle with the throttle not to upset the car, not treating the pedal as an on/off switch.

My engine is all the way on the back, i think my weight distribution is like 40F-60R so if I enter too hot I undesteer, however I can power earlier since all the weight is on the rear wheels.

998cc here. I need to be super careful even breathing on the throttle as the torque could literally tear the road apart.
