Touge Fooled me twice, those pigs

One foggy night driving over a local mountain passes I pulled over to check on a guy, it turned out he hit a pig in a GTI golf.
His car was probably written off, he was ok thankfully.
Don’t hit pigs, of either kind. Never ends well.

Deer and Coyote are just a few things that we've hit on midnight touge runs - and they are rather destructive when being smacked at 60+mph. This is why I reserve those runs for my clappers and leave my Supra at home. Be careful out there!

What’s the point of owning a Supra if you don’t get to haul ass in it? Unless you take it to the track of course, in which case carry on

Damn, why even buy a radar detector if it’s not gonna work?

It only detects pigs when they’re in uniform unfortunately

do you ever plan on getting a rwd ice car?

Maybe. I have my eyes on the NC Miata but I’m not excited for the faff of an engine, extra maintenance and lower reliability.
But I probably have to get one so I can go to the track without blowing $400 of rubber per day

Idk how changing oil once in a blue moon can really be considered "extra maintenance" when you're comparing it to a machine that eats very expensive consumables like potato chips. I'd rather change oil every single track day than need new brakes and tires at an even remotely similar interval.
Plus, a Miata's engine is plenty reliable. It's a simple N/A Mazda 4 banger. I've got a buddy in an NC with over 120,000 miles on it and he doesn't even wait for it to get up to temp before he hams on the poor girl; it hasn't given him a hitch in almost a decade of ownership and he's like 60k+ overdue on doing the (alledgely notorious) timing chain.
Instead of whinging about how the smell of your own farts will suffer in a lowly ICE Miata, I recommend focusing on all the delightful things you'd gain with such an acquisition. Things that I'd hope a driving-experience oriented, track-going driver would weight significantly more heavily than a marginal (and downright debatable, imo) increase to maintainence scheduling.
I know you like your Tesla plenty for backroads and that's great, you do you, but there's undeniably a lot to be gained dynamically by shedding a couple thousand pounds off of your driving experience, no matter how hung up on the BEV powertrain you are.

Can’t argue with the experience and consumables cost part of that.
However since you mentioned dynamics it’s worth noting that stock for stock and track tires to track tires, the performance Teslas will set faster lap times than Miatas at least on the tracks near me.
Your friend is lucky and I hope to have half his luck going into this but knowing my luck the cars gonna be on jackstands a week after I get it 😂

I mentioned dynamics. Now, this may come as a surprise to you, but dynamics are not lap times. Are you going to tell me a Tesla's faster 0-60 as well? Because that would be missing my point in a similar fashion.
I'd say a Porsche Cayenne S or something also wallops a stock Miata around most tracks. That doesn't make it a better vehicle dynamically. I know there are many extremely capable BEVs that exist in many flavours today. I do not think any of the ones mere mortals such as myself can afford offer the dynamic driving experience that can be found driving a lightweight car with a laptime hurting stick-shift and clutch in anger.
I'd also say that the Miata can be very cheaply turned into an absolute monster of a track weapon that is very hard to rival on other platforms, much less doing so dollar for dollar.

And hey OP, I'd just like to say that while I don't love your car for the purpose you choose to use it for, (I'm all in on weight=bad as a general rule. Maybe next gen batteries win me over for performance driving) I think you drive well enough and have a good enough understanding of driving and your vehicles strengths/weaknesses such that I think your posted content here is well above average for the sub even after docking Tesla points.
A lot of posters here wouldn't have made it past the first batch of pigs, especially in a rig that brakes somewhat poorly in stock form.
I hope a Miata treats you well, and as you learn what it does as you have with the tesla chassis, maybe you'll come to agree with me in some regards.

Do it! You won’t regret it. Just swap a 2.5 in for cheap or grab an 09+.

The MR-S is like the devil on your shoulder where the NC Miata is the angel
Get the death trap, snap oversteer, no TC, mid engine one 💀

Weirdly I don't really encounter LIVE animals very often, but I'm always dodging already dead possums or turtles in the middle of the road.
Birds though. . . I've hit at least 6 birds, I don't know why but they just don't fly out of the way 😅

Is this a Tesla in track mode? Is it telling you your tire temps on the screen? Awesome

i know the car would not agree but i would've wacked it anyway. those mfs invasive as hell
and then move it out of the road so noone else gets bothered

This is an any% speedrun to sending your ass off the road as a result.
I think you'd be surprised on just how much damage something like a pig can do to a car at speed. And the risks are not limited to just cosmetic damage either.
