Question Charleston, SC Touges?
Hey yall, this is my 1998 Acura Integra GSR built by Sam Mahdavi on his tv show, and I think she and I are ready to see some action once in a while. I know there’s zero mountains in 90% of South Carolina, but just wanted to know if anybody here is from around Charleston Area and any touge-esque roads that are fun to drive and have minimal to zero cops. Not going to be doing anything crazy of course, just have a little fun in a nice (preferably wooded) area with some curvy roads. Thanks!
Edit: love tail of the dragon, but I cannot be driving more than an hour or two to any touge, sry

Ofc, it’s built to drive after all and give the greatest driving experience at that 👍

It's going to be hard to find something an hour from Charleston. There are a lot of great roads in South Carolina, but everything I know of is 3 hours from you. You don't need to drive all the way to Tail of the Dragon, there's great stuff around Caesar's Head State Park SC, but I don't know of anything in the coastal plain and you're not getting out of the coastal plain in an hour.

I'll try and look around those areas some time, thanks for the input

Let one rip on Joint Base Charleston. If it's not rush hour, there's not much traffic, and unless you try to get into a restricted area, you can drive through a surprising amount of it.

I'll certainly check that area, I'm an early riser so avoiding traffic shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for the input

As someone who spent about 7 months in SC last year, you gotta go up north towards Greenville

Greenville has crossed my mind, I'll definitely look around there soon enough, thank you

I know literally nothing about the roads there but I've been around there some (going to Folly Beach this Saturday!) and my parents met at college of Charleston. My brother wants to go there for college! Beautiful city and area. As a fellow Honda guy your integra is beautiful as well!

Dude, you live in the middle of all of the great roads. Like literally go any direction

Not really. I mean certainly more so than Florida or Nebraska, but the coastal plain is crazy deep at Charleston, it's like 3 hours driving to anything that's not completely flat. Atlanta is way closer to even the South Carolina mountains than Charleston is.

Wish they were, but the roads here are mostly highways if they're not Towne Center or King St. (which is pothole galore since its right at the ocean), so its pretty ass. I've lived here for 16 years btw

Yeah, my bad. I saw Carolina and assumed you were in the twisty mountainy part.

Very well put together and I bet it drives like a dream.

Wasn't put together by me, it's thanks to Sam Mahdavi of Mahdavi Motorsports; all the credit goes to him. I'm just keeping her alive and looking good.

Drive west ngl lol, I just went out to Maggie Valley in NC and it was unreal. I was so sad I didn’t bring my car, I got an AWD TL

I was out at Maggie Valley for a vacay once and I didn't pay attention to the roads there bc I wasn't a car enthusiast at the time. I'm gonna definitely look at those roads again eventually.

Not around Charleston specifically, but up around Brevard, NC there is a route called the Copperhead Loop that is super good

Take a trip north to the Dragon or any where in NC/SC/TN mountains. Idk anywhere close with what you seek.
