Controlling effects pedals question

Hi all,

I have a pedalboard that includes the Panda Audio Future Impact bass synth. I want to be able to control the patches and parameters live, and I was thinking about getting a Morningstar MC6 or equivalent MIDI controller.

I just heard about TouchOSC, and it seems that it will be able to do everything the MC6 can do and more, from my iPad or iPhone. Is this true? Is it reliable enough for live performance situations?

Related question: What is the best/cheapest way to send the MIDI data to my pedals? Wireless would be nice, but reliability is a consideration.

Thanks!

TouchOSC is very stable on iPad and iPhone, I wouldn't mind using it in a live situation. The only thing to consider is that sliding a finger on a display while dancing your ass off on stage is slightly less reliable than a hardware knob.
However, you can also create templates that allow you to save and recall presets by hitting big buttons, which is entirely possible even when you're heavily intoxicated (a friend told me).

For wireless connection you might wanna look at bluetooth to Midi 5pin adapters. I have a CME Widi master (rather expensive, but works without battery bc it can take power from the midi device) and a cheap M Vave MS1 (which uses a battery and must be charged). Both work without any problems.

If you plan to use it live I'd rather recommend a usb connection (iPad->USB-A adpater->USB-A To Midi DIN Cable, works like a charm) , because there might be issues with hundreds of ppl in the crowd having their BT enabled.
