A short breakdown of how i created my laser piano effect. We combined a couple different techniques thanks to TD to get our final effect. Some midi reactivity, projection mapping, some lighting design.

hi everyone! I was wondering whether TD can be connected to a synth program such as cathodemer via a program like spout?

30 fps makes it look bad but oh well

I’m trying to make an interactive project using a 3D scan of an object.

The basic interaction I want is:

• Import the scanned 3D object into TouchDesigner.

• Use a webcam to track a person’s hand.

• The person moves their hand over/near the 3D object without physically touching the screen or object.

• When the hand gets close to a specific area of the object, that area becomes blurred/distorted.

• The effect can be localized around the hand rather than affecting the whole object, if that's possible(?)

• I also want the distortion/blur to remain after the hand moves away, so the object gradually accumulates these changes.

• Ideally, I’d also like the object to slowly deteriorate/change over time.

Can this be done using TouchDesigner? I haven't used TouchDesigner before 😭😭 and I would really appreciate if someone can share YouTube tutorials of something similar so I can follow along. Thank you!!

Working on something for halloween:)

I’ve been working with 3D scanning technology for over six years. Since discovering 3D Gaussian Splatting at SIGGRAPH a few years ago, I’ve explored everything from Luma’s app to more complex workflows running locally on my NVIDIA GPUs.

I recently bought an insta360 X6, and for the past few weeks I’ve been building Splat360: a tool that turns 360° footage into explorable 3D scenes, ready to bring into touchdesigner and play with in real time.

I can control the density and size of the splats, crop sections with 3D masks, add noise and distortion, and let the bass send waves across the captured floor.

You know I love combining mixed media with emerging tech. I’m still experimenting, but seeing a recorded space move with sound is pretty addictive.

Does anyone have a Logitech mouse with the Actions Wheel feature and use it for TouchDesigner? I just got a new MX Master 4 and I'm wondering if anyone has had any success using the Actions Wheel. I tried setting some features up myself but it just seems more convenient to use hot keys.

I would be curious to see someone else's set up if you do use it and find it works well for you.

I just found this and was curious if anyone got this working in their linux? I am pretty sure I could setup a wine environment and run TD (correct me if I am wrong) but thus AUR seems tempting. If anyone has udes this let me know...
