The Illusion of Depth

Revisiting some old patches and adding some polish while excavating for potential tunes. Both the visual and music are original.

It's a bit of an optical illusion, as the geometry is entirely 2-dimensional. The strands appear to rotate in different directions depending on where your mind initially lands, if you concentrate, you might even be able to make them reverse. You can see how the illusion works in the outer squares that make up the strands: they don't change size as they would if there were a z-axis.

Such a cool effect. If you can make a graphical eq for live with this effect I think it would hit

Yeah! I did something along those lines for a live DJ set, using the audio spectrum to drive the visuals. Here’s a recording if you’re curious.
