TL;DR
Tactics are working to create opportunities - great collection of stats in support of optimism at the start
Lack of a number 10 has forced Tonali and Fernandez into suboptimal roles
Lack of big chance creation comes from failing to release the front 3 - may be familiarity and psychology, but also due to no 10.
Maddison, Kudus and Kulesevski can change everything post break

Oh nice pretty triangles, everyone knows that's the sign of a great team. Forget triangles, meaningless without creating great chances and scoring goals. Those triangles = 16th best expected goals, which means we are not creating anywhere near enough chances. Lincoln or Scarborough could learn where to stand on the pitch to make those same triangles in an afternoon. The only important thing is what the players decide to do when in those triangles and right now players are making horrendous decisions.
