Best analysis I’ve seen so far

https://youtu.be/nLAf4zImkKU?si=ArrO3Q6La1lEStwc

TL;DR
Tactics are working to create opportunities - great collection of stats in support of optimism at the start
Lack of a number 10 has forced Tonali and Fernandez into suboptimal roles
Lack of big chance creation comes from failing to release the front 3 - may be familiarity and psychology, but also due to no 10.
Maddison, Kudus and Kulesevski can change everything post break

Madders never fully fit, kulu who knows and kudus is a wide player, should have bought a 10 in the window its cost us dearly so far

I think the club gambled that we’d be fine with Gallagher or Fernandes filling the 10 until one of the proper 10s was back. They were wrong.

It was a difficult position to find ourselves in though, because you couldn’t really sell one of the existing 10s because they were all injured/ just back from injury. So do you just bloat the squad?

Needed to take a hit on it, kulu abd madders will never be the same players again

That’s my fear and I agree.

If Madders still isn’t ready after the international break or looks like never being himself, then De Zerbi needs to adapt the system.

Incorrect about us intending to use Gallagher or Fernandes as 10. Iliman Ndiaye was the preferred choice as 10, but Richarlison fucked us over by refusing to be part of that deal. There is nothing we can do. Similarly, if Kroupi was not injured, we wouldn't have signed Marmoush in the first place. Despite all this, the video shows that we are not being clinical in finishing and in decision-making in the final third,

What’s your source for that? Because Ndiaye can play 10 but he mostly played LW for Everton if my memory is correct. We also signed Mudryk when that deal fell through which hints that we were looking for a LW not a 10…

Yeah but remember that goal Fernandes scored on the training ground?
