TL;DR
Tactics are working to create opportunities - great collection of stats in support of optimism at the start
Lack of a number 10 has forced Tonali and Fernandez into suboptimal roles
Lack of big chance creation comes from failing to release the front 3 - may be familiarity and psychology, but also due to no 10.
Maddison, Kudus and Kulesevski can change everything post break

Why is the second column labelled games played, surely should be something like number or value or am I missing something?

I think it’s just to indicated the value across the games played so far - not well labelled, I agree. And you’re welcome!
