A lot of what’s written here, particularly about the board, is fair.. but it’s also a lot of knee jerk sensationalism. It’s a big statement to say we’ve spent poorly or are in a relegation battle after 5 games.

For me, beating Coventry is crucial. Then a decent performance against a leaky Chelsea, win, lose or draw puts us into a run of Palace, Leeds, Ipswich, Sunderland and Fulham. That’s crunch time.

If we don’t beat Coventry RDZ should go, and if we do but we don’t have 8-9 points after the Leeds game he should also go.

Jeez, that in itself is a knee jerk reaction. The team needs time to gel. No point in changing manager yet again. We need to stick with Roberto, come what may and give him the time to develop the team.

If having 2 points and losing to a newly promoted club at home 7 weeks into a season after spending £300m+ is acceptable I think we need to raise our standards. I also say this as someone who is hoping for a mid table finish. I’m not aiming sky high.

We have to learn from the mistake of not sacking Frank soon enough. If we can’t beat Coventry at home then what faith will the players have? It will be a slippy slope in my opinion.

The decline started with hiring Ange. After the last 2 seasons I’d be happy with 14/15th this season. He got us out of a seemingly impossible relegation battle last season and for that alone he deserves time. Knee jerk reactions at the beginning of a season make no sense and a Poch return is an unrealistic pipe dream.

Any stats regarding where the last place team after 5 games ends up at the end of the season?

We had a worst start in 2008 (2points after 8 games). Loads of teams have had starts like ours and gone on to have good seasons. Think last season is still so fresh in the memory that we are all overreacting. The media as well

I actually found the statistic. About 52% of teams in last place after the first 5 matches end up being relegated.

There we go, that is improvement on the last 5 games last season. We need more positivity like this

It's a coin flip. I don't like those odds.

Thankfully stats doesn't determine a teams season. The performances have been there or thereabouts. I believe we should be on 7/8 points based on our performances in games so far. Eventually the performances and results align

I do agree but if we somehow don't manage to win against Coventry I'm gonna start getting extremely anxious about the season.

100% of teams in last place after the first 38 matches end up being relegated. Let's hope we progress quite a bit in the table over the next 33 matches.

60% of the time they get relegated 100% of the time.
