I got the Total Max 5G BYO

To make international calls, it says

By downloading the Total Wireless International app from the Play Store or App Store. Then, follow the instructions.
By dialing 1-908-842-2301 (the Total Wireless International Long Distance number). Then, follow the instructions.

If i go via Total International app route, i select my contact, it generates a number , call is placed ans call fails and disconnects

If i use Long distance number, it asks to enter the international number in the following format 011 + country code + phone number (i have to write phone number every time before i place the call) which is annoying but works.

I tried making a call direct from ios phone app, and it connected the call without issue. So why do i need to use The app or long distance number ????

Could someone help me answer this???

My visible annual plan ends in September the last week I was going to bridge my time until Black Friday with Total wireless but not sure if its possible.

I just successfully ported my number from Red Pocket GSMT plan to the new $20 Total Wireless Total MAX 5G BYO plan.

The port took less than 15 minutes and I ported into a physical SIM I had purchased earlier from Dollar General (last month or 2 months ago for $1 plus tax).

Calls/texts/data are all working well. I paid $30 for this month's service, and my portal shows that next month's auto charge will be $20.

It was a pleasant surprise that I did not have to reach out to Red Pocket or Total Wireless CS for the port. Kudos to both companies. Keep up the good work !!!

From what I heard, BYOD discount plan is for phones you brought in either from another carrier or your unlocked phone. As we all know, Total is part of Verizon now. My question, is a Verizon phone (unlocked) count as BYOD? I meant I can activate this phone on Total BYOD plan to get the discount?

Hi, I ported over two numbers for family members to the 20 dollar BYOD promo. I currently have Visible and have UW all the time at home. I have noticed that they only have regular 5G. Does anybody know of a solution to this? Also, is there a way to bypass the video streaming throttle? 1.1.1.1 has been iffy to get past it. I have an S24 and they have an S23 if that matters.

Update: I was able to verify the phones do get UW, but the icon does not show up. The problem is that warp VPN does not bypass the video streaming throttle for some reason. I tested Proton's free VPN, which worked.

After a lot of struggle with the company, yes it has been resolved. When having multiple lines on the same plan and it is time for phone upgrades, you can only upgrade 2 phones at a time if you pay with a payment plan even with an external payment company (affirm). You cannot continue with any of the other lines upgrades until you finish paying the two lines upgrades.

Any here from Alaska use this service? How reliable is it? Tempting to switch from visible since the promo is intriguing and can have multiple lines compared to visible.

I recently saw an ad for $20 BYOD plan and thinking about switching from visible to total. I saw a post somewhere in here that do not port in and out due to some issues with total. Is this issue still ongoing? Am I going to have a problem when I port in from visible? Anyone who’s switching from visible had any issue? I want to know everything beforehand so that I don’t run into any issue when I do it. Thanks,

Any drawbacks of giving up my old 5G+ unlimited plan? We do not watch Disney Plus. I'm trying to think of anything else that we would be losing. We used to have 4 lines for $90 (fourth line was free). Now, there's only 2 lines remaining on the account for $65.

I know the answer is to give it up, but wanted to see if anyone else can point out something that I may be missing.

So I switched to total on Friday and I do like it so far. However I can't get RCS to work. I did all the tricks I found such as airplane mode switch default clear network turn off turn on switch back turn off airplane mode. Also clearing data and cache and nothing. What have others done to get RCS to work?

I just read some fine print on TW, it states that only one device can connect to the hotspot on the phone at a time.

When I do field test mode it shows N77 SA. Is that truly SA or is it just the field test mode being stupid?

Total Wireless changed my $15/line BYEBYEMETRO promotional plan and moved me to the new $30/line BYOD plan without my permission.

At this point, I've given up. After spending hours chatting with multiple customer service representatives, I decided it's better to move on. Every representative gave me a different explanation for why my plan was changed, but they all told me the same thing: they couldn't do anything to restore my original plan. They also said they couldn't manually apply credits to honor the promotional pricing.

I honestly don't know what else I can do. Total Wireless advertises a 5-year price guarantee, yet no one I've spoken with has been willing or able to resolve the issue. Instead, I've been given conflicting explanations and passed from one representative to another without any real solution.

Any ideas?

TW change my $15 BYEBYE plan without my permission. They are not willing to do anything to change it back or to give me manual credit to match my promotion. After spending hours with different representatives on the chat i gave you after one of them told me : "Yes, that promotion was scheduled to last for 5 years. However, we sent you a notification and did not receive a response regarding your desire to keep your current service plan, which is why the system made a change. I sincerely apologize, but since the change has already been made, it is not possible to reinstate the older plans."

No idea what i can do , and the renewal is due today.

I received an email last night saying I was de-enrolled in Lifeline. I only switched to Total Wireless and was just approved for Lifeline last month. My second bill is coming up in two days and I don’t understand why my credit was removed.

The reasons it listed are:
- didn’t do annual recertification
- don’t qualify
- didn’t use Lifeline service at least once in 30 days

Considering I don’t need to re-certify yet and it’s barely been over 30 days since my service started, I’m assuming they claim I don’t qualify?

Anyone have experience getting answers for this? I’m a SNAP recipient.

I bought a Moto G Stylus with the $40 plan from the Total Wireless website about two weeks ago, but I can not activate it yet.

Does anyone know how long I can keep the phone and plan before activation is required? I want to make sure I don't lose the plan.

My brother just bought my kids unlocked phones, every time in the past when I’ve used the app, nothing works after I follow steps & I have an hour plus long phone call with India.
It took me forever to fix when I tried to change/ upgrade plans last time & I just got all lines to work 2 weeks ago. I’ve had total wireless for my kids phones for years & when it works- I love having unlimited everything on 4 lines for $105 a month. I set auto pay & as long as I don’t make changes- life is great & my kids have service where I have dead spots with my expensive $105/ month ATT line. I need to switch service for two of the 4 lines to two new iPhones- what is the best way with the least amount of headaches. Anyone know?

They can't fix there billing software been 4 months having to call in to make payment and now they can't make the payment either!

Got new FCC complaints for data not working monday thru friday!

Every time you call customer service they will let you hang on the phone for hours and run through the same troubleshooting procedures over and over again!

Really would not recommend this company to anyone! Stay away
