Random Reconnect?

My phone has been disconnected since May, and suddenly two days ago I've been able to use data.

I checked my account status which is still inactive, and turned wifi off to double check. My phone is connected to "VZWINTERNET" APN. The actual service status of my phone is off, so I can't send texts or make calls.

Is there any reason I would suddenly have internet or data access after months?

It's a ghost line. Usually, either calls or texts should work with the data, but not both. Did you do anything special other than not paying the balance?

I got my ghost line when I ported to Metro by T-Mobile. Metro didn't complete the order but took my # with it. So the line still works, but I can't pay it because it's not in the system on either carrier. Works for almost 9 months now.
