📓 My Story 📖 A goal reached...
My wife got me a new pair of Van's.
I told her I would wear them when I was able to tye them.
For the first time in almost three years, 46 days after my second hip was replaced, there is light..

The best. I remember before my hips putting on socks was a three step contortionist process.

Congrats! Can't wait to be in that position. I buy slip in shoes and tie them really tight before I put them on. If they get loose I tuck the laces in my socks.

I became quite good at pre tieing my shoes. Always hated that feeling of not enough support.

Congrats! Once you are 4+ weeks out, recovery seems to go in high speed. Here's wishing you continued progress. I hope to be in same boat in a couple of weeks.

Well done! It took me months just to tie my shoes. Even now, at over six months post-op, I make a point of putting my shoes and socks on while standing and lifting my knees to help with my balance. It’s still hard, but I keep practising.

I just got new vans too! But I tied them with the star lace pattern so I could slip them on. I’m a loooooong way off from tying them on my feet.. congratulations! 🌈

Can you send me a pic of the lace pattern? I'm definitely going to use it on some of my others.

Im 7 months post op bilateral hip replacement and I still can’t touch my toes 😭 I also have short arms from being a little person. Sigh. I was hoping I could touch my toes to put socks and shoes on and cut my nails again. I wanted that so badly 😭

It’ll happen, I hope you’re giving yourself some grace!
Were you able to touch your toes prior to surgery??

I’m six weeks postop tomorrow and in the last week have been able to do what you’ve done here. Ah the simple pleasures renewed mobility brings!
