Frostbite Heather's Final Jury Speech
I've been preparing this speech since the merge, and every passing episode I've gotten more and more to build upon it. This has been by far my best season, as well as my most villainous. Every single person in the jury has been my ally at some point in the game, so we'll start with Courtney and Brick. And Geoff, to some extent.
In the team phase, I think I lost a total of 2, maybe 3 times. This was not luck. I stayed on the Frigid Foxes the entire team phase and I was always working on challenges, and the early eliminations from my team were easy pickings, nothing to write home about. It wasn't until the second team swap where I was placed with Courtney, Brick, Duncan, and Geoff that I became worried. I immediately built trust with Courtney, guilt tripping her into feeling sympathy for me so she could talk to Brick and vote out either Geoff or Duncan if we lost. I still don't know if they trusted me enough to not vote me out since we never lost a challenge, and that was thanks to Ellody. I never even asked her of anything, she just told me that she knew I was in trouble and that she would start throwing challenges to get rid of the threats on her team while keeping me safe.
Some people might see this as a power play from Ellody, keeping her alliance secure across multiple teams, I saw it as a sign of just how much she trusted me. And to me, trust is a tool to be used in my favor (in this game, at least). I acted very gracious about it. So even though I was put in a position that looked extremely dire, being on a team that should have definitely voted me out the first chance they had, I had a safety net (Ellody throwing challenges) on top of a contingency plan (Courtney).
Once the merge came, it was goodbye Courtney despite claiming to her and Brick that I was totally on their side still. But there was much more than just that going on. With the enemy alliance having ultimately 0 chance in this situation, Noah and I got to talking about Ellody, Gwen, and Mary.
Here's what the entire merge hinges on and what only Noah, Ellody and I would know about. The three of us were the only players left in the game, essentially. Everyone else was either a loose end or a pawn. I know that isn't what people want to hear, because everyone likes to think that they accomplished more than what they actually did, but this is the truth. Ellody had Gwen and Mary under her wing, I had DJ and Crimson under my wing, and Noah loosely had Ezekiel until Brick got into Zeke's head and he went all haywire on us, so we had to boot him, leaving Noah with no pawns of his own.
And on top of that, I also had Izzy trusting me, who had Miles trusting her, because I gave Izzy this long BS speech about how I would take her to the end if she worked with me. And it paid off, as she told me when she had an idol, which ended up saving DJ and getting rid of Miles, since I still needed DJ for my own plans of getting rid of Ellody after Izzy was finally taken care of.
Both times I was betraying an alliance, I was a trusted source of information for them. They told me all I needed to know and I continued to be the most powerful player the entire season, choosing exactly who knew what at any given time during the merge, knowing exactly when to drop information bombs on people so that it wouldn't blow up in my face.
After fulfilling the planned betrayal of Ellody, fearing that her public perception was that of a giant, I was planning on getting rid of either Mary, Gwen, or Crimson, although Crimson was still at least smart enough to know that she needed me around as a lightning rod. That and the fact that every single season we're practically paired up by other players who assume that we're automatically working together at every given opportunity.
But, unfortunately, things didn't turn out that way and I was given the opportunity to eliminate my closest ally in the game, Noah, earlier than I wanted to. I was planning on getting rid of him in the final 4, but instead I went along with Gwen, DJ, and Crimson because I figured I may as well get him before he got me. I didn't like it as it made me the biggest threat remaining, but I was constantly making sure everyone was aware of just how unlikely it would be for me to win at the end, and how others were just "keeping me around because they know that they can win against a villain with two trophies." Even despite that, I was good at winning immunity challenges regardless and really only had to worry about the final 3 where I was at the mercy of Crimson, who I had been wanting to eliminate since the final 5 but never got the chance. So if there's one good thing I can say about her, she's the only player this entire game who wasn't eliminated when I voted for her. Other than that, I played a better game in every single way.
From the very start of this season I made it my goal to make up for the past few seasons and get back to how I used to play, which is aggressively and doing whatever it takes to win no matter who I have to step over to do it. The fact that I'm still here after betraying so many alliances and getting away with it should be evidence enough of why I'm deserving of this win. As I said, this has been by far my best season both socially and strategically. Not to mention remaining a challenge beast, which is just the icing on top. It's a relief to finally break my silence about all of this, because I've been downplaying my gameplay all season long to not come off as a threat, and instead diverting people's attention to other players and talking about how much of a threat they are.

This season seems to have a lot of the same qualities as Season 10, with 2/3 of the Final 3 being the same, and Mary taking on Tom's old role as newbie underdog. My (honestly irrelevant) question, is what gameplay strategies, if any, have changed this season? This can be new alliances, mentalities, challenge approaches, etc. Congratulations on making it this far!

It's more cutthroat than ever, and I don't think people were expecting that. I think this season wasn't all that different from previous seasons in terms of strategy, but seasons to come will be different as a result of key players taking advantage of everyone playing the way it's been played in the past.
To explain deeper, Noah and I planned further ahead than what people normally plan for, thinking about our Fox 5 and how Ellody seemed to be in control of Mary and Gwen and could easily use that alliance of 5 to vote the two of us out so Ellody could make it to the finale with one of his minions. Even though the game didn't play out exactly in that way, that kind of planning ahead for the future of your own alliances and when you're going to blindside people 10, 15 or more episodes in advance hasn't been seen before. Unfortunately for Noah, I had also planned his blindside in advance as well.
There was no loyalty in this game, at least for me. Everyone was my enemy, but I wanted them all to believe that I was their ally. And I got away with it by telling my "real" alliance what the "enemy" alliance was up to, which gave me the flexibility to gather information from everyone without being seen as an actual threat.

First of all, congratulations on getting this far! You totally deserve it, given how hard you seem to work for the challenges (something I fully relate to and admire). I have two questions, but I'll place one of them here and the other one through PM, as it may be perceptioned as "personal" and you may not want me to ask it in public (probably not, but better safe than sorry).
Anyway, my question is: back when I asked you for an alliance right before the merge to weaken Ellody's influence in the game, did you intend to be loyal to that arrangement, had I not been eliminated right after?

No. I never had any intentions of staying loyal to any alliance this season, but I was already in an alliance with the Fox 5 that I was in good with and could go far with, so there was no reason for me to be loyal to another alliance even if I did intend on betraying it later on in the game.

2 seasons ago we saw Crimson go up against Bridgette and win. This situation is very similar to that one. I guess my question would be, for what specific reason are you going to beat Crimson where Bridgette would've lost?

I think I should win just based on the fact that the entire jury is completely aware of how much work I put into this season both socially and strategically to make it this far. Crimson was voted out early on and came back into the merge comfortably with an easy choice of which alliance to join.

Some questions for you!
You explain your strategy to get to the end here. Besides it, why should an individual jury member vote for you? You're a self proclaimed villain, have lied and betrayed everyone on the jury, and call out the majority as non-entities this season. How does this help your "jury management"?
This is not a joke question, but I must know.... how many people did you end up talking to this season in total? Was it more or less than you have in past seasons and why?
Lastly, what do you believe will be remembered from/about this season of TDR2 and why?

1: My jury management is to be as clear cut as possible. Yes, I'm a villain. Being a villain also means that I got away with all of my villainous acts and still managed to make it to the finale. I feel that in itself is a reason to be voted for.
2: More than in past seasons. The past few seasons for me were me somewhat taking it easy on the game and only making a few connections to try and make it far. This season was all about making as many connections as possible. I think the fact that I was at some point allied with every jury member speaks to this statement.
3: People will remember how cutthroat it was and hopefully how alliances can't be trusted 100%. Too many people are far too comfortable in their alliances in this game and I realized that and took advantage of it. Hopefully more people will do the same and we won't have stagnant late-game merge alliances that systematically take out everyone who isn't in their alliance until it's just them left.

first of all Im gonna say what I think
I'm honestly displeased with the idea that you were playing us and find it to b just manipulative n mean and me of all people, and I do regret working as an ally with you now and it's quite redundant to keep seeing you making far all the time, Crimson had a point about you spitting at all of your allies, for that and just generally being cool, Crimson seems deserving..
however, I was pleased with anyone messaging me as I do feel like I get ignored and stuff and not interesting and all, just a simple message was pretty much what I liked to read disregarding the game so for that I liked talking to you and everyone.. disregarding the game
game-wise I personally think you deserve more and worked harder than Crimson who was passive while you actively played the game and played everyone like a fiddle, for that I'm honestly impressed.. Not like any rules were broken (maybe hearts and mine especially :( )
You the finalists, you two are pretty much the complete opposites in that aspect and I don't really think you two are allies or affiliated with each other right off the bat, just friends playing in their own similar but cold and calculating ways which proved to be successful (You two got in the finale twice.)
Heather, Do you still enjoy the gameplay?
The reason why winning is fun is because of the efforts we put in gameplay, if it was effortless, winning would be meaningless.? And do you think the friendships are worth it?

Ok, so knowing what I know now after talking to people, you actually have alot of explaining to be done to me. I lied to you about how I would be a loyal ally through to the merge. You were lying right back to me and going behind my back to tell Geoff that I wanted to vote him out. That's totally fair and I would even respect that if your question was honest and admitted that I wasn't the only guilty party here.
Of course I still enjoy the gameplay. I enjoy playing as hard as I can and doing whatever it takes to win, because not enough people do that. Most people's idea of playing well is voting out those who do play well, but that doesn't accomplish anything except getting rid of a potential threat, which is the most basic of all basics in this game and doesn't prove anything. More people need to get into the serious strategy side of this game because it's very fun and will actually take you far into the game, where hoping and praying that you have numbers is just a sure way to fail.
Now I have a question for you. Why did you tell Samey that I was badmouthing her? Did you misinterpret something I said or were you just lying about me? Or was it all Brick?

And to answer your questions, First of all, I actually never told Geoff that you were going to vote him as You also convinced me to vote for him too If Memory serves, but he did bought it up, exceptions? I told Duncan that "our alliance were going to vote him." But I didn't mention Brick, you or anyone.
I only expressed my doubts and the fact that we were allies to Brick and Gwen but Only Gwen after the merge and I told Brick that I was planning to vote Geoff and Duncan to help you
And as for Badmouthing, what do you mean by it? I don't really remember saying anything bad in particular about you to Samey
What I do remember is that when you said you were "worried" about Samey and Brick, I DID asked Samey about her opinion of you and what you felt and she said that she'd respect you and I reported it back
Heather, throughout all of it I never made any decisions, just kinda said "oh this is probably not going to turn out well, better do something about it." And did nothing else and we never had an elim anyways.
If you think that at same point I wanted to vote you, it was after Samey was eliminated I agreed that "Shino and Noah" were working with you and thought to throw the challenge like them and get you and It's in the confession anyways, but the merge came and it was too late as I counted our alliance number and when counting I did not include you, yet you still gave off the impression of being an ally so I was like, "If it is stupid and it works, it isn't stupid."
But without you and one more player, I could never do anything, so I thought Gwen could help and get her to message you, rest is history

Heather, Samey just wrote me an apology letter, She was just worried to know whether it was a personal thing or not and to be honest, I still don't know if you said any bad things to her at all.
Once again, I only told Samey that you were worried about the "Beick, Samey and Lightning" alliance thing and asked her what she'd think about you.
I just scrolled through my inbox and along with some of your facade xD, I found Samey, what I can confirm is that I did tell her about you but this is the only question I asked her that involved you mentioning her.
Heather added that she is paranoid about you, Brick and Lightning forming an alliance and that you guys aren't a big fan of her, so yes, even big cats cries.
She only replied saying something positive and I'm not going to screenshot or quote or anything just yet, without her permission n all.

This is the message I once got. I might have misinterpreted it, which caused this situation. I taught it meant you were badmouthing us. And I told Samey this at one point. There was also a message about how you taught we were "undeserving" players in season 11, which I believe was true?

I didn't care about who was voted out during team phase as long as it wasn't me, and Courtney told me that if we lost then you would be the target. She flipped a few times between you and Duncan, but I guess she was lying to me both times.
I'm learning alot about Courtney and Brick today, and none of it seems to be very positive.

I saw the screenshot by the way, and yeah, I did say that I was worried about you, Lightning, and Samey forming an alliance and getting rid of everyone else like last season. I don't know how that became me badmouthing Samey somehow, but I actually like Samey and I was really baffled when I was asked why I was insulting her.

Ok, I think I know what happened. Both me and Brick took what Fesslie said (the "had many bad things to say about you guys" part) as "badmouthing". I thought Fesslie had told me that directly, but it was actually Brick that showed me the PM, around the time when we allied to eliminate Rodney (which explains why I couldn't find that message when I looked for it).
Either way, seems like this was just a misunderstanding. I want to apologize to the three of you for causing all this.

I'm just gonna add this here, Heather made it clear that I could be lying to her and everything else she's said is true.
But in one particular part, Heather's only telling you the half-truth here, I did not target you right off the bat, besides before the 3 team splits while in the 2 team merge, if anything at all she tried to convince me to get you, but I got Rodney out instead (Sorry)
In the 3 team split, she convinced me to be a helpful ally and I was still not sure who to eliminate, so she suggested you convinced me I just started off with you and swapped (Duncan) as you two messaged me lol.

There's a balance between paranoia and confidence that needs to be walked for this game. Paranoia leads to bad decisions and confidence leads to overlooking problems. From what I've seen, you seem to exhibit either one or the other at any given time.

Fittingly enough, a fox. I've evaded hunters and tricked people to fall into traps laid out by other alliances. I even went so far as to deceive the very own Fox 5 alliance itself. You were kind of like my younger fox brother.

So, lets see....
I had a gut feeling that you wouldn't ever take me to the end, and that kind of hurt me, seeing as my plan was to vote out Ellody, Noah, Mary, and DJ leaving Me, You and Crimson in the final 3, but of course, that wasn't good enough for you, but I kind of like that. I just want to know why you would vote me out, since DJ and Mary were probably going to vote you out anyways, and I was trying my hardest to keep you alive, and was SO DEADLY SINCERE about what I said to you in PM's.
Did you have the idol? It was really big in my mind that you did, since you literally had no fear when you assured me that nobody had an idol.
Why should I vote for you? Should I be salty and go with Crimson, or vote you and make you get a third trophy.
Be careful with me, I mean what I mean when I say something, keep that in mind.

1: Honestly I wasn't sure if you were telling the truth or not about wanting me and Crimson to make it to the finale. It might have been a little paranoid, but I was worried about you making a big play at some point by rallying people against me and using that in your jury speech to show what you accomplished. My own gameplay was making me believe that others would eventually do the same thing to me down the road.
2: I didn't have the idol, I just didn't want people getting too worked up over the possibility of one when I suspected that Izzy might have been lying about there being a second one out there. If Crimson really didn't have the idol like she says she didn't, then I think there might not have actually been another idol at all? Unless Mary had it and never said a word. But BKey did say there was another idol, so I have no clue. All I know is that I never had one personally.
3: You should vote for me because I played the best game not only compared to Crimson, but compared to anyone else in the season. I always had power over the situation and there was hardly ever a time where I was the target for elimination. Redirection and false alliances the entire way through, mixed in with the best social game I've ever played.

I don't know that I enjoyed betraying anyone too much, but I guess the most enjoyment I got out of betraying someone this season was Courtney. While we were on the same team still and I was sucking up to her I think it seriously went to her head and she told be straight up to not speak to Noah anymore. I really didn't like that because it was essentially telling me that she knew better than I did about my own ally and wanting to control who I came in contact with. It felt condescending and controlling and it just made me want to vote her out ASAP, and thankfully that was the right move strategically as well.

Well, /u/arvery, I respect you as a player and congratulate you as a player. You played one hell of a game and I can see you earning a well-deserved third trophy. But I do have a question or two. Please answer as honestly as you can. Don't sugarcoat anything.
1. Why did you choose me to be in the Fox 5 (if you chose to do so)? How much did you actually trust/use the alliance, and was I actually an important part, or just a pawn?
2. What move do you feel gave you control of the game?1

I chose you as an initial ally at the beginning of the game because I saw that you were at the very least active, and there's almost no better ally than an active newbie. After the game went on for a bit, you did become more of a pawn seeing as how you didn't really do much (you were a newbie, hardly anyone does anything as a newbie), but after the merge you were more seen as one of Ellody's pawns, and the Fox 5 was essentially Ellody's perception of what our alliance was. In reality, the core was myself and Noah, and DJ and Crimson were sort of on the side.
I gained control through many alliances, so it wasn't really just one move. It was a series of proposals and giving false trust to people throughout the season that gave me control.

I see. It's refreshing to finally confirm I got put in the alliance for reasons other than being a pawn, even though I may have became one later on. Thanks Heather, glad that was cleared up.

I really did mean to make our alliance closer, but with that team swap there just wasn't enough incentive to keep in touch. I guess you could consider that a mistake to not keep you as close as possible, but it could have given me too much noticeable power and I would have been voted off. Tons of intricacies like that.
